Aspens of the San Juan's
San Juan Mountains, Colorado
While I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel all over the globe, currently I am sitting in the Houston International Airport waiting for my flight to Nicaragua, I am also proud to call Colorado home. Even though I do not get to photograph Colorado as much as I would like because of my schedule, it is truly one of the few places around the world that truly allows me to feel at home. Fall in particular is my favorite time of the year. All over the state near the end of September to the start of October, Aspen trees turn unlike any other time. Entire forests light up in fusion of yellow, green and occasionally red and orange. My favorite area is around the San Juan mountains, near Telluride Colorado.
This is the first year I have offered a Colorado Fall Colors
photography workshop where I will be showcasing all of my favorite spots in the region. Just a few spots left: http://www.colbybrownphotography.com/photography-workshops/colorado-fall-colors/Camera Info:
Camera: Canon 1D Mark IV

Exposure: f / 11 at 1 / 200 SecPhoto Editing Info:
The image required very little editing as the light was so incredibly soft when I captured the image in the first place. In Adobe Lightroom I use a graduated ND filter to add contrast, clarity and pull out details in the shadow area of the mountain. I then added a touch of vibrance and saturation and fine tuned everything with the curve adjustment, still within Lightroom.
