Tim’s Ford Fishing Report – 1 Feb 2017 – Tims Ford Lake is shaping up really well so far. We caught some good fish this past week mostly on Mussel Crawler jigs from Tightline Jigs in the new Tim’s Ford Special color and on Finesse baits. We’re focusing on Main lake points and pockets with a gravel and chunk rock in 10-20 FOW. Water temperatures are low to mid 50’s which is very unusual for this time the year. Over the past three weeks, the TWRA, Tims Ford Council, Tims Ford Bass Club and myself have teamed up to start a lake rehabilitation project. Thanks to all that came out and helped we have been able to place just over 300 new fish attractors, spawning benches and stake beds in some 25 to 30 locations. We’ll be continuing this work over the next couple months and again next fall. Likewise, 11 Feb 2017 is the Lake Clean event headquartered out of the Bass Club. For more information on these projects contact me at msbassguide@comcast.net or visit www.timsfordcouncil.org We are taking reservations through Late Spring and summer already… If you want to catch fish on Guntersville, Tims Ford, Normandy or Nickajack Lakes…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to start making those plans for the spring time action. As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you. We offer a Military Discount and unmatched dedication to making your trip successful and enjoyable. “Let’s go fish’ in”

Guntersville Lake 1 Feb 2017 – The past couple of weeks have been up and down with Guntersville showing some improvement prior to the colder weather starting to move up shallow. However water temperatures dropped 10 degrees with the return of the cold weather. Yesterday, Phillip, Gary and I hit the water and caught 29 to 30 fish between the three of us, most looked to be buck-bass with a few descent fish mixed in. Our fish came primarily on Rattle Traps, Jerk baits and Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs. Water temps range from 48 degrees around the main channel to 52 degrees in the backs of some creeks. Make those reservations now for the upcoming spring action on Guntersville we’re filling up fast…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available… As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you. Guntersville Lake 27 August 2016 – Past two weeks have been all over the place, one day you can catch them and the next you have to work just to get a limit. With that said the best pattern lately has been early morning top water mainly Catch 5 Big N’ Swim Jigs, pop-r’s and some buzzbait action along the back channel grass, Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs worked along grass lines on the main channel and Punching D-Bombs with a 1 ounce tungsten. Best frog action for us was on Pro-Z, T-Fritz Popping Frogs and on the regular Hollow Body’s in thicker Grass… I look for the punching and frog patterns to really ramp up over the next two weeks as conditions should improve for these tactics. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and using sunscreen. Water Temps are 83 to 87 degrees. The ledge bite is fading some, we found some active schools but there lots of shad and other bait for them to feed on it is making that bite a tough one, it should remain good until fall, it’s mainly all about timing…they are not eating all day, but if you stick with it you can catch them. On a side note, for those who run Hydro Wave it help us late last week to run a delayed schooling at a low volume. We are taking reservations for September through October for Frog, Ledge and flipping/punching grass lessons…If you want to catch fish on Guntersville…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to make your plans with a full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides. As always, we supply all fishing gear including Duckett Rods, LEW’s Reels, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost you. Guntersville Lake 25 June 2016 – Back on the Big “G” today after a couple days on Tim’s Ford. Aaron and Ed wanted to learn offshore and ledges and that’s exactly what we did. Today was topped with Aaron boating his two personal best fish. The photos do not do justice Aaron in red is actually holding a 7 plus and an 8.25…my fault I wanted to hurry and get them back in the water. Folks it’s hot out there make sure you are drinking plenty of water and using sunscreen. We fished Mussel Crawler Jigs from Tightline Jigs and Tomahawk Worms from Missile baits in and around channel grass...water Temps are 85 to 87 degrees...We found our best action in 10 -18 FOW on grass ledges and shell beds. The ledge bite is here and should stay until fall, we are taking reservations for July through October for Frog, Ledge and flipping/punching grass lessons…If you want to catch fish on Guntersville…I have days and USCG Licensed guides available…now is the time to make your plans with a full time Professional USCG Licensed/Insured guides.
