Blog: Display technology has long been dominated by LCD and LED. They have been the staple of many devices like #smartphones
players and even televisions. Yet, another material has been slowly emerging as the future of high definition displays, a material that can easily beat #LCDs
when it comes to functionality and versatility. These are known as Organic Light Emitting Diodes, or OLED.#OLED
displays have been present for quite some time in the market, yet it is only recently that people have begun to see its future in display technology. Now that more people are looking for devices with thinner, lighter and more flexible screens with vivid colors, OLED display module manufacturers are indeed looking at a brighter future ahead of them.
The Deal with OLED
OLEDs can be considered an offspring of existing LED technology, with some added improvements. For one, OLEDs produce light from thin films instead of individual bulbs, which then allow the array to produce brighter light with lesser energy. They earned the name “organic” from their light-emitting films, which are made of hydrocarbon chains instead of metal-laden semiconductors found among LCDs and LEDs. see link for more details: http://www.microtipsusa.com/blog/oled-display-module-manufacturers-the-bright-future-of-oled-display/
