Did you know that Michelle's Place offers a Spanish-speaking breast cancer Support Group in THREE different locations each month?
Who do you know that has been diagnosed with breast cancer and speaks Spanish? Our Esperanza para Mujeres Support Group may be just what she needs. Families are welcome and with our very own Lucy leading the way, these women find a warm, welcoming environment awaiting them.

What a gift! Thank you, Melissa and Madelyn Hats, for the beautiful handmade chemo caps you sent for our clients. They are beautiful and will be well received!
Have you heard about Madelyn Hats? Please go to the Madelyn Hats page https://www.facebook.com/MadelynHats and see the great work Melissa is doing for so many in loving memory of her step-mom, Madelyn, who she lost in 2009, and also her mom, Lynda, who passed away December 13, 2014. This is an amazing example of giving back and making a difference.

Here's a myth we can bust...
Myth #17: Wearing an underwire bra increases your chance of #BreastCancer.
BUSTED.
Claims that underwire bras compress the lymphatic system of the breast, causing toxins to accumulate and cause breast cancer, have been widely debunked as unscientific. The consensus is that neither the type of bra you wear nor the tightness of your underwear or other clothing has any connection to breast cancer risk.
What have you heard about breast cancer that you are not sure about? We will help find out if it is a truth or a myth.

Ladies, if you have found a lump, how many times a day have you thought about that lump before going in for your examination/mammogram?
Women who are diagnosed with breast cancer, going through treatment, or living with cancer can have thoughts of cancer running through their head like a news ticker. Finding an escape and forgetting cancer for even a few minutes is a relief. http://ow.ly/H6xFt

Today is National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
In October, we celebrate and promote awareness of breast cancer as we celebrate Survivors and honor those who have fallen.

Today, we would like to introduce you to the #Warriors . The women living with breast cancer everyday for the rest of their lives. The women who live "scan, treat, repeat." The women with metastatic, or Stage 4, breast cancer.
Don't pull out your tissues just yet. These women are fighters. We will share facts on metastatic breast cancer throughout the day to help raise awareness.

We're going to start with Jennifer's story. She has been our friend since her first diagnosis and we are honored to know her. We thank her for sharing a peek into her personal life and her perspective of her breast cancer diagnosis.

We are just debunking myths here, people, so keep reading to the end before you get too upset...
Myth #18: Caffeine causes #breastcancer.
BUSTED.
No causal connection has been found between drinking caffeine and getting breast cancer; in fact, some research suggests that caffeine may actually lower your risk.
