"In all the mad incongruity, the turgid stultiloquy of life, I felt, at least, securely anchored to myself. Whatever the vacillations of other people, I thought myself terrifically constant. But now, here I am, dragging a frayed line, and my anchor gone.”
― John Steinbeck

6th Annual Mobile Photography Awards

I am extremely humbled to have received 7 Honourable Mentions in the 6th Annual MPAs.

When I first got my first iPhone many years ago, I did something crazy ... I put down my camera. And then I found Instagram. Then the iPad came out and the rest is part of my personal history.

Having been one of the 'pioneers', I've seen people come and go. I have seen communities come and go as well. The use of the smart phone to take a photo is the photographer's 2nd or 3rd camera now. It's become mainstream. And so the competition gets tougher and tougher. I'm happy to see some of my peers still around and slugging it out with me.

Most of all, I am truly honoured to be part of the shortlist ... quite possibly 5 years running. I think I didn't take part in the first one.

Thanks judges ... you made some great choices this year and I suspect there would have been many times when your eyes just glazed over. It's an unenviable task.

DB, I have no idea how you do it.

Thank you to Life, Pain and Beauty for inspiration. And as always, I thank my friends for supporting me and never judging me.
