A lot of people are preaching that brands must become publishers. I disagree. It's not an ideal solution for every business, every time. Here's why.
#contentmarketing   #content   #branding
While being a publisher may benefit some brands, it's not a marketing solution for all brands, all the time. And when is a brand not a brand? Find out here.

Only one person (+Mark Daoust) has ever asked me how I write about topics with which I'm unfamiliar. We do it every day at +Passion Fruit Creative Group. Here's how.

Looking for shortcuts to create high-quality #Content ? Don't bother. The best things take a little more time and effort (and plenty of research).

Take a look at +Michelle Lowery 's latest post on the PFCG blog to learn what's really important to crafting the highest-quality content.
There are no shortcuts to high-quality content. But how do you write what you don't know? And how do you hire the right writer? It's all about knowledge.

Great read from +Rebecca Murtagh. It can be difficult to turn down work, but if it's not right for you, saying yes will end up being much worse than walking away.

Consultant Bill of Rights - If you are not respect your value, who will?
It is ALWAYS a good time for a reminder on this topic : )

OK, so you've been to PubCon, SMX and SearchLove. But if you're at all involved with content marketing, you may want to check out these content-focused conferences.

My post on the +ISOOSI Research Engine blog.

#content   #conference   #contentmarketing
Are you attending the right conferences? Digital marketing events may cover content marketing, but these four conferences make it their focus.

There's a big difference between persuasion and the hard sell. I'm a big believer in persuading over selling, so I'm looking forward to this #ISOOSIchat hangout today! Check it out!

Is it possible to subconsciously influence people and bend them to your will? Is it unethical? Or is it a critical component of your marketing?

Join us on Tuesday March 4th at 3:00pm EST (noon PST) for the next #ISOOSIchat hangout:

We will be discussing these topics (and more) with +Ammon Johns +Erik Stafford +Carlos Fernandes and our usual band of merry marketing misfits.

Our special guest on the panel for this exciting topic include best-selling author and known persuasion expert +Dave Lakhani and expert copywriter +Colin Theriot.

Dave is the founder of Bold Approach, and his ideas have been applied by some of the biggest companies in the United States including IBM, Rogers Media, Micron, and GE...

Colin is the founder of the "Cult of Copy" group on Facebook...  And has spent years studying persuasion tactics and how to implement them in your written marketing.

We will be sharing some interesting thoughts on how to build an irrational loyalty - a following that can transform your brand.

Make sure to join the discussion!
This Hangout On Air is hosted by ISOOSI Research Engine. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

Hahaha! Well, I appreciate your sacrifice. ;-) And yes, I don't see digital marketing slowing down at all. I'm actually really excited about the direction it's all taking, especially in the content arena. I think marketers are getting smarter about it. At least, some are-the ones who will still be around a few years from now. :)
