#NCed chat is a bi-weekly Twitter chat for North Carolina educators and others who are interested in or invested in education. #NCed Chat will provide an opportunity for North Carolina educators to grow and develop their personal learning network (PLN) by connecting to other NC educators throughout the state. On January 6 at 8pm, educators from across the state will discuss what they envision as “next generation learning” and how museums can support these new forms of learning. Join us on twitter using #NCed hashtag. In addition to Twitter, we invite participate to join via Google Hangout.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Michelle Harrell. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

Interested in the future of learning and how museums can serve tomorrow's learners? We are too! Save the date for May 21 for an update on our IMLS grant funded planning project and participate in a panel discussion with two of our national thought partners: +Kris Wetterlund and Seema Rao. Stay tuned for details!

Join us on Thursday, May 21, at 1pm EST to discuss how museums can best support tomorrow's learners.

Through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), our museum is conducting a two-year investigation into the changing needs of classrooms and students and into the unique role of art museums in today’s educational environment. We are using a STEM based art infused design process to ask, imagine, plan, create, and revise solutions for tomorrow's learners. Through this hangout, we'll share how  findings from the ask phase with the museum community at large to forge new conversations about the role of art museums in a changing educational environment. We'll be joined by two members of our national thought partner network, Seema Rao and Kris Wetterland,  who will participate in a panel discussion about student and teacher needs and trends in the museum education field.

You can participate by joining this Google Hangout or participate through twitter using  #NCMAask  .

Join the Apex High School Art Team and educators from the NC Museum of Art to explore benefits and challenges within the choice-based art educators and imagine an online resource that encourages student centered learning. This Google Hangout is meant to spark conversation for the upcoming Teens Inspired Thinktank July 23-24 at the NC Museum of Art but will be open to the public to crowdsource ideas. I look forward to chatting with you!
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Michelle Harrell. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

I think I got the idea. We have good tech resources. We just have to figure out our classroom management for classes of 38 to 40 and get comfortable with flipping. That's why I wanted to be involved to learn, practice the best methods.and resources

Excited to share the first batch of journaling responses to "I am... We are" on our Teens Inspired blog. Our Teen Arts Council acts as the hosts of the journals sending them out to teens across NC in the fall and outside NC in the spring. If your teen group/ high school class would like to sign up for 3-23 journals for a week, let me know!

Introduction
I am a wanna be tech-geek and artist educator balancing the joys of work and family. Fairly new to Museum Education, I  learn something new every day. You'll always find me with my mixed media journal but I also enjoy painting and printmaking. Known as a somewhat loud art advocate, the opinions expressed on this web-site are completely my own.
