Olallieberries
We went to pick olallieberries with our friend and her lovely dog, Biscuit, at Swanton Berry Farm in Pescadero. Olallieberries are more tangy than sweet, but/so they make the best jam. Biscuit is such a nice little doggie. It was amazing to get some fresh a...

India 2015
I've wanted to go to India for a long time, and I finally got the chance with our friend Gunjan (one of Michael's Hult classmates) getting married. India was amazing; I think the best word I have for it is "vibrant." We stopped in Paris on the way and stock...

I Can See!
The last few years, I've noticed more and more that I can't see very far. This is very disappointing after having LASIK 8.5 years ago. I know it's not too out of the ordinary to need adjustments, but my siblings who have had LASIK haven't had any trouble. I...

Kitchit Tonight Dinner Party
I recently had the opportunity to try out Kitchit, so I booked a Kitchit Tonight dinner party. If you haven't heard of Kitchit, basically, they'll send a chef to your house to prepare a meal in your kitchen so you can just enjoy a fresh, professionally-made...

Thanksgiving was great. We invited some nearby family members and some friends from Hult. Here's a video about our holiday for your enjoyment: I carefully made a Thanksgiving Day schedule the night before Thanksgiving so we'd know exactly when to start what...

That's How I Roll Apron
This is what I gave Michael for his birthday. (Yes, it took several months for us to celebrate our birthdays.) I painted the apron myself. I learned the hard way that if you want to make your own stencil with normal paper, you'd better not put on too many t...

Working at Zana
For a few months now, I've been happily working as a developer at Zana.io ! A little bit about Zana: Zana is the brainchild of Shea Tate-Di Donna. Shea worked in venture capital for many years and felt that while many people have good ideas, they often don'...

Short New Haircut
Since my mom was in town recently and I had been thinking of finally getting a sophisticated new 'do after so many years with long hair (seriously, it's been like 10 years), I went ahead and had her cut off about 12 inches. It still feels weird, but I like ...

The Last Two Months of 2014
What special things (besides Kitchit and Thanksgiving and job stuff) did we do in November and December? I'm glad that you asked . . . Michael participated in Hult Prize again , this time with an idea to incentivize early childhood education in slums. We ma...

Helping out with a remote Python workshop for middle school girls in Massachusetts.

+Lynn Root is giving a free four hours online workshop for middle school girls in Massachusetts who want to learn how to code. She recruited a few IRC mentors around the world, the ones in San Francisco met at the Spotify office where the live video stream will happen in just a few minutes.

Technologies used: Google Hangouts for the live stream, Github for the code, IRC for immediate support, Google Moderator for after-show questions, Google Docs for instructions, c9.io for actually writing code.

It's our first time doing a remote class. Let's see how it goes.
