Another insanely smart keynote from yiibu.

In the coming years, the main events on the web/internet will be in Asia, Africa, and the "rest of the world" and not in the US and Europe. That's the message of this awesome slide deck, which I agree with.  I believe it. It matches up with my experience in Asia. And it is extremely well crafted. This slide show is one of the best trend presentations I've seen. I wish I had done it.

"One of the most profound advances in science in recent years is the way researchers from a variety of fields are beginning to formulate the problem of consciousness in mathematical terms, in particular using information theory. That's largely thanks to a relatively new theory that consciousness is a phenomenon which integrates information in the brain in a way that cannot be broken down. Now a group of researchers has taken this idea further using algorithmic theory to study whether this kind of integrated information is computable. They say that the process of integrating information is equivalent to compressing it. That allows memories to be retrieved but it also loses information in the process. But they point out that this cannot be how real memory works; otherwise, retrieving memories repeatedly would cause them to gradually decay. By assuming that the process of memory is non-lossy, they use algorithmic theory to show that the process of integrating information must noncomputable. In other words, your PC can never be conscious in the way you are. That's likely to be a controversial finding but the bigger picture is that the problem of consciousness is finally opening up to mathematical scrutiny for the first time."

Clever & relevant remarks. I particularly appreciate your long view & didactic language. My own attempts at helping people look into the future sometimes employ a historical perspective from the perspective of exponentials.

Well done +Michell Zappa and +Envisioning Technology on these timelines.

I highly recommend looking very closely at each section.

Anyone else spot something missing? I'll make some additions tomorrow.
Technology is one of the most reliable, persistent and underestimated drivers of future change. This technology futures map offers a detailed look at potential technological advances in six key areas, chosen for their likelihood for significant disruptive potential on work, life, firms and policy over the next 15 years.

Why Instagrams get built but Hyperloops have not
If Hyperloop could succeed it would disrupt airline and rail travel as we know it and improve the whole economy with more economical and efficient transportation. There have been many innovative engineering designs and proposals but they are not taken serio...

A brain researcher conveys a sense of unlimited possibility in brain mapping, predicting it may be achieved in 20 to 30 years.

Greetings group. I'm stuck with a softbricked D803 that can't get past Download Mode after a botched TWRP & KK upgrade :-(

Can a kind soul help me restore the G2 using LG's Flash Tools over Hangouts & Screenshare?

I have everything from this guide (http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-lg-g2-to-stock-firmware/) set up in a virtual machine, but am getting stuck in the process.

Will happily pay for your time if you know how to fix this.

Thanks!

This method worked better for me, and I'm not a tech savvy person. My G2 was stuck on Bootloop after I did a factory reset which deleted everything including twerp. It wouldn't work on my PC which is Windows 8 for some odd reason. I had to use my Laptop which is running Windows 7. I also had to log in as an Administrator for it to work. I had to Google how to set up an Administrator account since like I said, I dunno much about these kind of things. lol
