I love the Spotlight Stories from +Google ATAP, so it was fun to see one of the characters in person. ATAP did a talk at I/O, including a preview of an upcoming Spotlight Story. Check it out:

Here's a direct link to the Spotlight Stories segment: Google I/O 2014 - A 3D tablet, an OSCAR, and a little cash. Tango, Spotlight, Ara. ATAP.

Thanks to +Brian Ussery for letting me know about this session.

I'm sad to see an otherwise innovative company take the traditional bloatware route. I love Uber, but I don't think that this is the right way to market it.
Uber's growing like a weed, and it's about to get a lot more exposure for people who may not have tried or heard about the ridesharing service. CEO

do not like this.  I am hoping that at least the phone can be reformatted to delete the bloatware....otherwise this may be a great reason to keep my current phone longer.

Eric Jaffe describes a "banality to vehicle autonomy" in Mountain View, which may exist to some extent, especially based on his observations. However, as someone who has seen these vehicles every day for years (you can see the building where I work in one of the videos), I'll admit that every single time I see one, I can't help but think: "That's so cool."
Very excited about the progress the team is making with self-driving cars.  We're going to solve city streets! Great detailed article here.
