Project 09: Infiniti's blast from the past rockets into the future. Project 09 looks like it's ready to take on Auto Unions and Mercedes at the 1938 German Grand Prix on the Nurburgring, but it's actually an all electric 2017 prototype from the retro-cool designers at Infiniti. Hmm... Prius or Project 09? There's no question - make mine a silver 09!

No mere show but no go car, the 09 was developed and tweaked by Nissan Advanced Powertrain. The rear-mounted motor makes 148 hp and 236 lb-ft and drives the rear wheels. That’s grunt enough, Infiniti says, to propel the 1,962-pound Prototype 9 to 60 mph in less than 5.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 105 mph, down from a theoretical maximum of more than 130 mph. Track day, anyone?

Ferrari Takes One-Two In Tense Hungarian GP. Sebastian Vettel powered his Ferrari from pole position to his 46th carreer victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix, followed closely by his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen who finished P2. Vettel stretched his Formula One championship lead over Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton to 14 points.

Vettel claimed his fourth win of the season, while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton finished fourth after sportingly surrendering third place to his team mate Valtteri Bottas on the last lap.

Bottas had let Hamilton past to attack the Ferraris, on the assurance that his team mate would hand back the place if he could not overtake, and Hamilton kept his word.

The last Ferrari driver to win from pole position in Hungary was Vettel's compatriot Michael Schumacher, who was dominant in 2004 and went on to win his seventh and last championship that season.

Ferrari locks out front row while Mercedes searches for speed at Hungarian GP. Ferrari's Formula One championship leader Sebastian Vettel took pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday and denied his Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton a record-equalling career 68th pole position.

Vettel's Finnish team mate Kimi Raikkonen sealed the Ferrari front-row lockout.

Hamilton, one point behind Vettel in the standings and a five-times winner in Hungary, will start from a disappointing fourth place on the grid and alongside his Finnish team mate Valtteri Bottas in third.

Hamilton had been hoping to match Michael Schumacher's all-time pole record and had set the fastest lap of the second phase of qualifying.

Stunning Scuderia Ferrari poster art for the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix by Giuseppe Camuncoli. Scuderia Ferrari has taken six victories at the Hungarian Grand Prix (1989, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004, & 2015), but has not tasted the winners champagne in 2017 since May's Monaco Grand Prix.  Mercedes heads to Hungary in fine form, having won three of the last four races, and appear to have the edge over the Ferrari team at this year's race on the Hungaroring. The action begins at Friday's practice sessions, followed by qualifying on Saturday for Sunday's race. #F1 #Formula1 #ScuderiaFerrari #ForzaFerrari #HungarianGP #Budapest #Hungaroring #Affiche

Bottas Wins Austrian GP Thriller! Valtteri Bottas won a thrilling Austrian Grand Prix for Mercedes on Sunday, with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finishing a mere 0.6 of a second behind to increase his lead over Lewis Hamilton to 20 points after nine races.

Hamilton, Bottas's team mate, started in eighth place after a grid penalty triggered by an unscheduled gearbox change and finished fourth.

Vettel now has 171 points to Hamilton's 151. Bottas is third overall on 136.

"I had a bit of deja-vu in the end from Russia," said Bottas, referring to his first Formula One win at Sochi in April when Vettel again almost reeled him in at the finish and also crossed the line 0.6 behind.

"At the beginning I could control the race but it was trickier towards the end."

Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished third for Red Bull, at a circuit owned by the energy drink brand, for his fifth successive podium finish with Hamilton pushing him hard to the checkered flag. #F1 #Formula1 #AustrianGP #RedBullRing #MercedesAMGPetronas #SilverArrows #ScuderiaFerrari #ForzaFerrari #RedBullRacing
