You know one thing I hate...

It's when you spend months writing something, weeks announcing it on game design forums, social media and everywhere you can think of.

And no-one pays it any attention.

...then, six months later (maybe a year), someone asks for help with a game concept or mechanism that you've resolved in your own work. This new person's ideas are lauded as revolutionary and clever by numerous people on those very forums and social network sites where you tried to grandstand.

If I were slightly more cynical or disgruntled, I might wonder what it's like to be in the game design "in-crowd", where I could pump out the same old crap, or recycle someone else's design and get critical acclaim.
