Today we pay our respects to the innocent men and women, our fallen heroes, that lost their lives this day 11 years ago. We remember the brave men and women who voluntarily risked their lives to help another human. We pray for the families that they may find peace on a sad day. We thank the men and women serving in our armed forces, coast guard, police force, and firehouses. Today we remember what it feels like to be 100% united as a country. We remember September 11th, 2001. Never forgotten.

Dumbo's Flight

There are a three subjects you always see in photos from #Disney ...  fireworks, characters, and kids. Well I have all three from my recent trip, all soon to come in future posts, but I wanted to start with something a little different. My nephew wanted to ride on #Dumbo   before we saw the fireworks one night, and who am I to tell a six year old no? As I waited for my nephew’s turn on the ride, I noticed the great colors on the cars and in the fountain. I tried to picture what this would look like in a long exposure as the cars were spinning around the air. I metered for the main body of the ride in between cycles and determined ten seconds should give me a good exposure.
This was also my first outing using my new #Nikon #D800 . I’m really impressed how it handled and I can’t wait to shoot more with it. Let me know how you like Dumbo’s Flight!

Audi TT-RS Photoshoot

The 3rd car #photography set that +Thorpe Griner and I did. Here is a gorgeous set of +Audi USA TT-RS's. The sky was fairly clear that day, but a nice stretch of thin clouds rolled in as the sun was setting. Here is an #HDR photo from the shoot.

You can see the rest of the set here: http://smu.gs/KfkyZy

The next photo from #Disney   features my nephew. We were standing around at the #animalkingdom   waiting for the parade to begin, and he was standing outside of his stroller looking for the parade. I quickly shifted towards him with my camera and lined up a shot. As he saw me rotate towards him, he quickly went into his “What the heck do you think you are you doing?” face and tried to hide back in the stroller. Though he was super quick to dive back into the stroller, my 1/800s shutter speed was just fast enough to capture this great expression. I’m really happy with how sharp his eyes are in the photo given his movement. More photos from Disney yet to come, so please enjoy this photo, “Serious Face”.

I wanted to post a quick thank you to +Guy Kawasaki for his great presentation on his book about #enchantment last night at #SMCDallas . I thought his presentation about g+ at +Google+ Photographer's Conference was extremely informative, and to see him talk live about another subject that he is passionate about was a real treat. I know I'll be able to use a lot of his talking points not only in my business, but also in my personal life. Thank you Guy!

And since I know Guy would not approve of a media-less post on g+, so here is a photo I took a couple years ago, my first ever blog post, from a David Cote Band (http://www.davidcoteband.com/) #concert in #dallas . This is also one of my favorite photos in my portfolio.

My good friend +Meredith McAuliff (https://twitter.com/Meredith_30/) came to me earlier this year wanting #headshots for a project she was putting together. She wanted something more contemporary than other #portraits   she’s had done in the past so we met up by the new AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas for some modern backgrounds. Since clouds were scarce that day, we spent time trying to find some trees to diffuse the harsh light. As we were walking around, I saw a reflection of Wyly Theatre from the glass windows of the Opera House and it turned out to be a great concept for a portrait. We also had a good laugh while taking this photo because all of the workers inside of the Opera House were staring at us thinking “Who is this celebrity?” Ok, maybe that wasn’t exactly what they were thinking, but it was funny nonetheless. Enjoy these photos of Meredith and let me know what you think in the comments!

Thanks Alisha! I was shooting open at f2.8 for this shot. If memory serves, I also had an ND filter on in order to achieve this.
