My Olympus OM-1 film camera arrived yesterday. I bought it on eBay from some guy in Tokyo, Japan for $119. The camera is in excellent shape. I am only going to shoot black-and-white film with it. Yeah, capturing 35mm pictures with a 42-year old (OM-1s were released in 1972) film camera may raise eyebrows, but I think it’s gonna be a hoot, if nothing else. All manual settings. Bought a 1.35v battery for the meter. Just hope I remember how to load and spool film into it.

Mikio Naruse directed movie, which means it is very well made. Very touching story. Hideko Takamine stars in the movie, and she may be the finest Japanese actress of all time. I adored the movie.
