You have to ignore some of the computer hardware reference photos, but this is pretty cool.

Trying my hand at video editing.  I'm using Lightworks and have the video stitched together, but now need to work on the voice-over.  Will not be on camera for the first one as I'm not sure how I would keep the audio in synch.  Hopefully, I'll have that ready to upload tomorrow night.  Sneak peak from the project.

Thank you :)
The screen capture was actually the weakest link. But it was also the first thing that I did, so I didn't know it was weak at the time. I used the screen capture tool from inside Android Studio, which I believe does let you choose a quality. Next time I will choose a higher quality.
My process was the following:
- screen capture
- write script
- record script (using Audacity)
- improve sound ("How to Make Your Voice Sound Better in Audacity" - How to Edit Gameplay Commentaries)
- Edit everything together.

The is A LOT of editing. A lot of extending frames while I was talking. At one point I had to make a shot longer with a blinking cursor, so I copy paste the one blink that I had captured and made the shot last a few seconds. I'm really proud of the outcome, there are many shots that simply didn't exist and that I created in Lightworks. :)

I got an HP Pavilion HPE from my son, which was an upgrade to what I had been working with.  However, the thing was loud and I had a pretty nice Antec case built for quieter operation.  So last night I had enough and took the plunge to move it over.  Let me say HP does not make that simple whatsoever.  They had these two (presumably grounding) wires coming from the mother board which required me to tear the stupid thing down to the metal frame to get at them.

I also haven't figured out all the leads for the panel so it is in the bottom of the new case so I can turn it on, but overall I'm happy with it.  I have some new case fans on the way so hopefully that will make it practically noiseless.  I'll see how that goes in a couple of days.  Here it is so far.  I love that I had to zip tie the old case fan in place so the PC would boot up (it didn't think I had a case fan running).

I went to PAX in Seattle yesterday and I have to say I was blown away!  So many people with such a varied interest in games electronic and not.  Stunning technology side by side with beautiful boards and figures.  Very good stuff, though my legs are done with me.

Summary: Technology is delivering amazing results with a minimum of oversight and the government is totally screwed up.  So why is the solution to every problem that we have is more government?  I'm pretty sure somebody said something about insanity once (http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/26032.html).
The future looks good when I read The Verge. The watches are smarter, the televisions are curvier, and the buckets of ice are icier. But honestly, the future looks less good from where I sit in Washington.

Attempting my first test video editing clip in Lightworks.  It is supposed to be an 11 second clip but the export is taking 4 minutes so far.  I'm assuming user error since I've used the program for all of 45 minutes.  Otherwise it says where my CPU is at currently...

Update: It was totally user error.  I rendered 30 minutes of blank space.  Back to the manual.

:)  Good tip on enabling tracks!  I just added an audio track and could see that happening.

Trying my hand at case modding.  My first attempt is less mod than it is trying to quiet the fans.  I'm also trying to figure out the best way to photograph this stuff, but here is my attempt.

I did some longer writing about Mike Rowe's SWEAT pledge.  It was interesting for me both in his take on work and in pushing my writing.
