Climate change, black holes, evolution... all just one big hoax. Sharknados, on the other hand, are scientific fact. I saw the documentary!

+Valdis Kletnieks It costs how much to inform people of an event? And then the President on down keep denying there was anything to talk about? Now let's talk about avoidance.

I will not pass your bill, Barack
I will not even let them talk
I will not pass it on the right
I will not pass it late at night
I will not pass it while I tan
I will not think bipartisan
I will not limit firearms
I will not try to help the farms
It will not pass—it won’t be pretty
I will kill it in committee
I will not pass it (what a shock!)
I will not pass your bill, Barack

Bill McKibben was at the University of Texas talking divestment, which has a sort of bizarre aspect since taken literally, the university would have to divest from itself. Bill made a very convincing defense of his position that there are far more carbon-based fuel resources on corporate books that can be used. he argues that, like it or not, that makes the fossil fuel corporations as currently constituted an enemy to be defeated. There are some ...

The unbelievable, non-factual, throw-'em-all-under-the-bus press conference by GA governor Nathan Deal.  .

Adding insult to injury, the NWS forecast was right on the money for Atlanta.

Introduction
mtobis.googlepages.com

I have a doctorate in climate science. I have a geek's eye view of sustainability. That's the core of what you'll see in my stream but I'm quite eclectic.

I think the deep past and the deep future are as interesting as the present. I am especially enamored with the period from about 1880 to 1930, when the vision of the future was optimistic and innocent.

I also have an Art circle. Let me know if you want in. Great photography is almost too easy these days, so I am more interested in drawing and painting and such.

I do not like: animated GIFs in public streams, brussels sprouts, and meanness. I promise no animated GIFs, no brussels sprouts and no meanness in return.

An absolutely amazing value. As neighbors we eat here frequently. Often we are the only non-Mexicans, which is a shame as they deserve a lot more attention. We adore the salsas, and the parillada plates, and the chicken and al carbon tacos. We're moving to the south side but intend to keep coming by now and again. The absurdly shaped building is an attraction, not a drawback. It was built as a Chinese restaurant if I understand correctly, and the shape is intended as a flower. Following the "taco journalism" website we call the place "Funny Shape".
