I'm not a political pundit. I'm an investment manager. Don't take what I say here as anything more than one man's view. As always, I welcome comments and criticism. Let's get a few things straight. First, I'm not a support...

A tongue-in-cheek looks at the indiosyncracies of coffee prices in the supermarkets.
Pricing goods on the supermarket shelves is as much an art as it is a science. More often than not the end result - a price, reflects the logical outcome of all the input factors. From time to time, however we get an output...

Introduction
I was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Long Island's "5 Towns." I went to Tufts University studied history and lived in Boston.  In 1990 I moved to Rochester, New York to get an MBA at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business. I made some terrific friendships there and got about the best education in business, finance and economics as I could have hoped for.

I was a research assistant at the Simone School to Professor Paul MacAvoy write case studies of the battle between Pepsi and Coke and the rise and fall of retail giant Sears.  I'm also eternally grateful to Priscilla Gumina, Dean of Admissions and Student Life, who opened up the door for me to go to Europe with the MBA Enterprise Corps.

I moved to Prague in 1992 expecting to stay one or two years and wound up living in Europe and building a career in investment management and finance.  Working for ING Group, and Credit Suisse First Boston I covered Central and Eastern European equities, emerging markets bonds and high yield bonds.  I founded Symfonie Capital in 2012 as a boutique welath management and corporate advisory firm.  Today in addition to providing wealth management and corporate advisory services Symfonie manages an Angel Investment Fund and a P2P Lending Fund. We also established one of Central Europe's first business focused peer to peer lending platforms.
