Mets Hall of Famer Gary Carter was born on this date in 1954. He played with the Mets from 1985-1989. Carter had 324 home runs, was an 11-time All-Star and a three-time Gold Glove winner. He helped the team capture the 1986 World Series and he started the dramatic rally in Game Six of the World Series vs. Boston. He was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 2001 and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. He sadly passed away in 2012. Share this in memory of the great Gary Carter.
