A huge advantage that Android has over the iPhone is choice. This year, I moved from a Nexus device to the OnePlus One (still, most people have not heard of it). Both are excellent mobile tech. Another great choice is the Moto X. You can't go wrong with any of these phones. But there is a new phone on the horizon that takes a radically different approach:

The Yotaphone 2:
http://yotaphone.com/gb-en/

The clear innovation here is the e-ink second screen. The design choice and technology allows a majority of what you use your phone for to utilize the e-ink display instead of the primary AMOLED 5" screen. This saves battery life as the number one culprit for draining battery is the screen.

Review forthcoming.
The world's first double screen smartphone is here! Fully personalizable always-on screen. Hands-free messaging and mail. Reading time up to 100 hours. Full Android functionality on both screens. The smart-phone future. Now. Price. £555. Order nowLondon store ...

Amazing shot

I have spent a lifetime loving my city of New York, despite living in and loving several elsewheres (Providence, Boston, Vienna, Paris, Banff...) and feel like I want some permanent reminders in my daily life.
I recently met very talented photographer and ILFORD Master Printer +Alan Winslow who spoke so eloquently and emotionally on the art and craft of printing. As he spoke, I was flipping through his portfolio of prints and it took my breath away. There was a depth of detail, a richness and a specialness that came from holding a flawless print on fine paper. Going into our meeting, I didn't understand why I might want to print my own work but I'm starting to feel the pull. He piqued my interest (and makes me want to take his workshops and share his knowledge with you all) and so I thought I'd begin a little journey (that I hope will turn into an epic one). I am going to discover the thrill of printing; taking something I've seen and turning it into something I can share physically (vs digitally). Creating something I can touch, frame and hang or hand to people I care about knowing that I totally controlled the process from beginning to end. To me, tit seems like it might make my art feel that much more loved.
Perhaps it's simply because I have none of my own work hanging on my walls and need to fix that. Or perhaps its because I simply want to extend the amount of joy I derive from this passion that so totally consumes me. Either way, I can't wait to see (and share) what happens.

Consider this a teaser to the final product. I've been working with C Plus Designs to create a custom bar for my home. We collaborated on the design, but C Plus has taken it to another level.

Many design elements have gone into this. The base is black powder coated (texturized). The star of the show is the 1 piece GFRC concrete counter top.  The elevated bar concrete top has a long slot for LED effect lighting. Drawer is wrapped with a copper sheet (more on this later). Additional design elements include knock box cut-out, pop-up power and power cord organization/cut-out.

Website for C Plus Designs: http://www.cplusdesigns.com/

This will get delivered tomorrow and I will follow-up with finished pics and a video walk-through.

I would describe Truck Max as the 'anti-dealer' experience. People buy from people and John Paul was super easy to work with. Not only is he an expert in his product, he gave me straight, honest answers and he pulls no punches! He's been doing this for 10 years, so this place is completely legit. In my case, I bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. With all of his vehicles, John Paul had customized this Jeep with a 4" lift, XD Wheels and 37" tires (and more). I was slightly concerned that 37" tires were going to be too big, so he quickly made the suggestion that he can swap tires (and wheels if I wanted) without any issue what so ever. Oh, and he just threw me the keys when I asked if I could test drive it! Negotiations were quick and easy and we settled on a 35" tire instead. By far and away, this was probably the best vehicle purchase experience I have ever had. I would not hesitate to recommend John Paul and Truck Max to anyone looking for a tricked out truck, SUV, or Jeep.

After my landscaping company had several failed attempts at various irrigation services that I needed, I called Pro Irrigation Services to fix the mistakes previously made and make some overall improvements to my system. Pro Irrigation Services were expedient, professional and went the extra mile to deliver a system overhaul and repairs. Not only that, they charged me much less than what my landscaping company wanted to charge. I feel I got a better service, a better product and a new partner in the process.
