Another push advertisement from Apple on my OSX El Capitan installation.  This time, Apple is breathless to tell me its bundled Maps application can now provide transit directions, like Google Maps has done for years.

Once upon a time, Apple didn't do this sort of thing.  They respected their users.

Much ballyhoo is being made over Microsoft's plans to start showing Ads in the Windows 10 start menu.

No one seems to call out Apple for their equally boorish behavior. Every time I launch Chrome on my El Capitan Mac, I get this ad from Apple in the form of a push notification.  Is an ad serving Apple's interests really good user-centered design?

First Google stops autoplay of Flash ads in Chrome, then this. "Mobile" sites that force-push you to install an app (Linkedin being the worst offender by far) deserve to be spanked down not just by Google.
