Wild Idea:

In a surprise effort to spur retailer adoption and consolidate grip on the space, Apple announces iPay, (or Passbook or whatever), for Android devices with NFC / BLE in addition to iPhones and iWatchthingies. Tied to an iTunes account, naturally.

I would like to state for the record that I am completely in favor of and applaud the so-called "witch hunt" of Brendan Eich. I respect and appreciate the contributions Eich made to the Web, but he had to go.

The hand-wringing and namby-pamby rhetoric about intolerance and mob rule is in denial of the cultural struggle actually going on.

Opposition to full LGBT equality in all matters needs to be shouted down and made to be a socially unacceptable opinion in the same way that full women's or racial equality is. Having the opinion that gay marriage should not be legal needs to become akin to having the opinion that slavery should be reinstated. Those having anti-gay attitudes need to be publicly shamed. It should be untenable for one to have those attitudes and achieve any kind of public success.

It is not lost on me that the right feels the same way. That's why this is a struggle. Victory on this is not we all get to be tolerant of each other's opinions. Victory is that viewpoint being stamped out of existence.

I am intolerant of Brendan Eich's donation. His resignation was a victory.

Presto was designed and written from the ground up for interactive analytics and approaches the speed of commercial data warehouses while scaling to the size of organizations like Facebook."
