Ya know, I say what's on my mind. In case they are listening.  No knocks on the door.  Gotta work on what I say.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Memorial Day! Remember to honor those who served.

Holy Crap!

“The incoming DX CW messages, regardless of their multitudes, intensity and speed, are perceived and decoded by and through the auditory pathways of a well seasoned brass pounder’s cerebral hemispheres; there is absolutely no place for computer programs”.

"Competencies in CW reception and transmission are the end results of tireless practice habits".

I guess I sent in all the paperwork correctly.  The FCC ULS database shows results for all 5 people who took their Ham Radio test at the +Maker Faire

When I teach kid about making a circuit I start with:

"How many batteries does it take to blow up a light bulb."

This is an experiment about limits and failure.  This goal is to fail!!!

I get tons of cheap little lights from the Christmas tree lights after the season.

Story
Tagline
Ham Radio Guy.
Introduction
Software Engineer by profession.  Serial hobbiest by practice.

Over the years I've played with drawing, playing guitar, playing ukulele, fly fishing, fly tying, shell collecting, stamp collecting and beer making. Was good at some.  Lousy at others.  Learned from all.

I have a pretty good collection of morse code keys, slide rules and USA made schrade old timer knives.

I collect Atwood.  He is an amazing tool smith and a very good guy that appreciates his followers.

I am getting into EDC.  Are you an EDC minimalist, or a kitchen sink person?

I am currently an active Amateur Radio operator. Callsign NE6RD.

I organized a booth at the  Bay area Maker Faire to get people interested in ham radio.  2012 was be the fourth year. Hoping for an idea that will really draw people in.
