Anyone else notice the statue 2 minutes in, which foreshadows the end?

Also, the highest number I saw was 41 million something... If, as we're to believe, this is the number of seconds left in their "natural" lives, none of these people have more than a year and a quarter to live.

I've actually noticed this: the numbers are actually are scattered. For example, everyone except for the woman who was saved and the dying old woman was actually counting up. Maybe the closer you are to any type of death, like old age counts normally to zero but accidents are a rapid decrease. The baby started with a high number because they were the youngest in the video and their number was still counting up because they weren't in any type of danger. When you're saved, your number still goes to 00.00, and the only way to get it to come back and count up again is by saving someone. The reason you can't talk to the person you saved is because they won't think about others lives that way (hence not seeing the clocks) so they will be a nobody. So everything in this video is actually psychological versus mathematical

OK, I'm going to have to argue with you about 2 of your issues, but first things first...

No Tier 5 Ship Credit? BUS YOU, CRYPTIC, YOU BUSSING BUSSERS! YOU BUSSING PIECES OF BUSSING BUS!

I could argue that some of your points fall more into the "wants" category than the "needs" category, but... Tier 5 Ship? You NEED that to play end-game content. Just one, but you NEED it. No credit. THAT. IS. BULL. HONKEY.

Also, I totally agree that fleets are poorly set up.

Alright, onto the arguments.

First, your Dilithium gripe. You're absolutely correct in your calculations, IF you're only getting 500 Dilithium per 20 hours from DOffs. What you're SUPPOSED to do is go to the "Asteroid Mining" mission near DS9 and work on that to get 1000 to 1500 Dilithium each 20 hours. Add that to your DOff Dilithium and you've got 1500 to 2000 Dilithium per 20 hours. You'll still need to grind a bunch if you're using Dilithium to trade for Zen, but it reduces your timers by a factor of 3 or 4. If you invest in getting a Fleet Dilithium Mine, you double your Asteroid Mining, so your total Dilithium is more like 3500 to 4500 per 20 hours. Still some grind, but that's a factor of 5 to 7 in reduction.

Second, you complain that the Romulan Dreadnoughts aren't in the Legacy pack. The reason for that is that they hadn't been released yet, and Cryptic does NOT like changing the contents of packages mid-stream. (They tried that before, and got a MASSIVE outcry from the players. I agree with their decision to not change pack contents after release.) So, on May 21, 2013, the Legacy pack was released with a bunch of ships. Then, half a content Season later, on July 2, 2013, they released the Dreadnought pack by itself. Now, if you think about it, they probably had all these Romulan ship ideas bouncing about in their heads at the same time, so you might question why they weren't released at the same time. That's a fair question to ask, but it does shift the blame to the design and development team and away from the folks monetizing the content.

The sad part is that I'm a lifetime subscriber to this game, so I've got literally nothing to lose, whether I play it or not. Back at launch, it was $15 a month to play. I plunked down $200 for a lifetime sub because I figured that I'd be playing for more than 13 months. By March of 2011, I had broken even, and after that, I was ahead of the game in relative cash value. Then, in January 2012, things changed, and the game became free-to-play. Once that happened, I was REALLY ahead of the game. I'm not sure if you are aware, but lifetime subscribers get a monthly stipend of Zen. They are almost literally paying me to play. I currently have more ships than I know what to do with, because there's more content than I can possibly get to. I'm not spending my Zen on the temporary buffs, and there are some outfits I'm not buying because I think they're ugly. That just leaves ships and characters. I could check out some of the stuff, but that would require me to spend Zen on more slots for ships and characters, because I'm already full of the things they're giving me, and then they give me more.

Star Trek Online is currently broken, committing some of the worst sins James outlined in this Extra Credits video: http://youtu.be/FwI0u9L4R8U
In this case, I'm one of the "whales" in the situation. You folks are the other players. The "whales" need other players to actually "be the content" of the game. With Cryptic's current strategy, that's failing. I will give you folks one of my 30-odd spare Tier 5 ships if it'll keep you playing. Cryptic is failing you, the regular players, and along with that, they're failing me, the "whale." They're trying to shovel me more game content when they should be trying to shovel me a consistent playgroup. I know you probably won't accept my offer, since you said you didn't want a donation, because you didn't want people spending more money on the game. However, since my lifetime subscription paid for itself 4 years ago, and for the past 3 years, they've been giving me free money, it wouldn't be me spending anything on the game. I'll understand if you decline my offer, though, because this is certainly some bull honkey.

I hope they see some sense and at the very least bring back the Tier 5 Ship Credit.

+Reila Oda They slapped you with a paywall and gave me the benefits, and I'm not even a paying contributor to the game anymore? No. No no no no. That's just wrong. I'm just trying to correct a mistake that they made in whatever way I can.

Also, there's a limited amount of space in my character bank and I was planning to donate some of these ships to my fleet anyway. Giving some to you folks would just be an extension of that plan and would free up more space that I could use in better ways.
