On July 4, 1776 the Second Continental Congress signed and approved what is our Declaration of Independence. Our Declaration of Independence is unique as it clearly defines the fundamental principles in which American Democracy operate. These are that government protects the rights of people, the people have the right to overthrow a tyrannical and unjust government and that all people are equal in their inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Nearly 26,000 men and women fought and sacrificed all they knew and had to fight for the liberty, life, and happiness of people they may never know about. They were out gunned, out manned, and out trained. But, they had something worth fighting for and worth protecting. LIberty and Freedom are powerful movements that cannot be contained or stopped. They will overcome and prevail over and over again as long as we have people that still believe in them.
This Fourth of July celebrate the Liberty and Freedom we have but take a moment and remember all of these men and women that allowed us the opportunity to have this Liberty and Freedom we have today. Happy Birthday America!http://youtu.be/c8C7i9kdEf8
