While the blog is a friendly old standby and a great tool, it’s not the only one in your tool kit. As the content arms race ramps up, there is still an advantage to be had for businesses who think outside the confines of blogging and invest their time into different mediums, formats and approaches.

Just because you state that you "have been practicing SEO since before most people even heard of Google" doesn't mean you're good at it...
