These will make you lol! I mean, make you smile... inside.
Danish writer Mikael Wulff and cartoon artist Anders Morgenthaler – the creative duo known as Wumo – has created a brilliant series of graphs that illustrate some of the basic painful truths of everyday life in the Western world. Their graphs and diagrams are snarky and sarcastic but, for ...

HTC One M8, one week impressions

Now that I've used the +HTC One M8 for a week I can say that I really love this phone! Although I've always liked the design and sturdy feeling of +HTC phones, I've stayed away from them because of their Sense UI alone. I've just not liked the look of it, and it has been bloated and has taken away from the Android experience overall in my opinion.

I'm pleased to see the Sense 6 has gotten a lot better! It has cut back a lot on the bloat and has a more minimalistic look. Neat and snappy as it should be! I quite like it and think I'll stay with it instead of flashing the Google Play Edition rom as I planned to. GPE was actually the reason I even checked out the M8 in the first place.

Other than the design and build quality of this device that I've already praised in a previous post, I have to say the hardest part about ever moving away from +HTC again, will be the lack of BoomSound speakers. They add so much to the experience! I can actually consume content without putting in some earplugs or make sure the media volume fader is all the way up to even hear anything.

The BoomSound speakers on the M8 has really made me longing whenever I'm on my +Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. In fact, if +HTC is manufacturing the next +Nexus Tablet as rumored, the Z2 tablet most likely has to go. And I really like the Z2 Tablet in every way except for the speakers, which really isn't that bad, but compared to the M8 there's just no comparison. Sorry +Sony

Anyway, I'm very happy with my purchase and will stay with this phone for some time :)

Are phone manufacturer's truly listening to consumers and trying to  #alwaysimprove  their next generation of flagship device? When buying a phone there are certain priorities that are more important than others.  Some want the best camera others want wireless charging.  No doubt for me and many others, front facing speakers are on the top of my list.

In fact, with the new M8 and how outstanding it sounds that is one feature I am not willing to compromise #neversettle . But you don't have to take my word for it, here are 2 of my favorite Youtubers +Marques Brownlee and +LinusTechTips talking all about Boom Sound.  "Enjoy the Cup trick everyone else"

I don't really care that much about cameras in phones. Non of them can compare to dedicated cameras anyway. With that said, I'm pleasantly surprised with M8's camera. Definitely outperforms my Z Ultra and Z2 tablet ( both with twice the megapixels), especially in low light conditions!
Good enough for sharing on hangouts, snapchat and mms, which is pretty much all I use cameras on phones to anyway. And for that I moslty use the front facing camera, which is 5mp on the M8 :P

It may not be as good as the Z2 and S5, but I mean:

That's good enough for me, coming from a phone.

Also, can you separate which one is the Z2, S5 and M8 here:

Even if you can, I think we can agree that it's not that big of a difference. Not enough to be a dealbreaker anyway.

Although the duo camera is pretty much just a gimmick that is fun for about 5 minutes, it does make the camera focus very rapidly which is nice. And I guess the UFocus effect can be nice in certain pictures, although this is nothing that can't be done in photoshop with some masking and blurring.

But it depends what you focus on more I guess. If you want the best camera the Z5 and S5 is the way to go, but the M8 is not as bad as some make it out to be, just because it looks like it on paper.

Dynamic ringer volume

This is actually pretty genius. Why doesn't all phones have this as standard already?

This is why Android truly is a "smartphone" the same can't be said about other phones.  Reshare this with all your iOS buddies ;)

As my guitar buddies probably already know by now, Shane Gibson passed away yesterday, only 35 years old.

I didn't know him personally, but I've always admired his playing and approach to music, and as far as I know he was involved in the development of the DC800 model by +Carvin Guitars? One of my favorites!

Very sad to hear.
Rest in peace buddy :(

Looks nice +Danne Johansson!
The developer has abandoned it though:
https://plus.google.com/+JonathanGerbaud/posts/6eS74NMpTv8

It doesn't matter. I think Facebook has gone downhill. Their algorithms makes uninteresting posts appear in my newsfeed while the stuff I want to see is hidden, add that to annoying adds and a poor official app (which is too aggressive with its permissions) among some other things and I can safely say that I'm done with the network for now.

All I'll use it for from now on is groups and private messages out of convenience and maybe copy/paste some posts from Google+ :P
