The newly launched Developer Central is a place just for the developer community. Full of code samples and best practices, Developer Central will help you get started on Hadoop and manage your clusters efficiently.  The three core content areas of Developer Central are Code, Architecture and Resources.

[[
An interesting note about the MapR news is that the company is supporting the entire Spark stack — which includes the Shark SQL query engine (it’s essentially a faster Apache Hive) and MLLib machine learning library – whereas Cloudera does not support Shark. Presumably, that’s because Cloudera is still incentivized to push its Impala SQL query engine, which is not built on MapReduce, either. MapR has been leading the development of the Apache Drill project for interactive SQL queries, but has also added native support for HP Vertica as Drill comes along.
]]
Summary: MapR is the latest Hadoop vendor to embrace Apache Spark, adding the entire Spark stack of technologies to its distribution. It’s a smart move by MapR, but just more validation that Spark might be the data-processing framework of the future.
