Ran across this little interesting tidbit. Gun control laws have never been about safety, but about government control.

CHRISTIAN GROWTH
1 Peter 2:1-2 "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"
One of the most pitiful sight that there is to behold is that of the undeveloped. Dwarfed plants and the dwarfed child of God. Hebrews 5:12 "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat." We will lament the physically underdevelopment of a person but, we lightly make excuses for and will even overlook the spiritual. Those who do this seem to have forgotten the physical being will be no more one day. The spiritual being lives forever. What is even worse is that we have everything to say about where our eternal home will be. Some falsely believe that they can grow before birth. Meaning they want to test and see if they can live the Christian life before obeying the Gospel. No one has been able to do that yet and even if they could what difference would it make when obeying the Gospel is the only way to get into Heaven. All Christian living is in Christ Jesus. Acts 17:28 "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." We can only enter into Christ through obedience.  Romans 6:3-8 "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:" Galatians 3:26-27 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." There are things that are essential to growth both physical and MOST importantly spiritual.
The number one thing logically is food. Jesus has our spiritual food. John 4:32-34 "But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." It is essential that we have this spiritual food.  John 6:53-54 "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day." Jesus is the Heavenly Bread  John 6:51 " I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." We dwell in God if we eat His flesh. John 6:55-56 "For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." Growth physical or spiritual is dependent on food. 1 Peter 2:2  "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" It enables us to discern. Hebrews 5:12-14 "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Yes it is the Word of God that supplies us this spiritual food. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
Food alone will not be enough there is also much care involved. All members of the Body of the Christ should have the same care. Ephesians 4:3-6 "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." This is part of what makes it easy to see a false teacher. There are NO FALSE TEACHINGS in Scripture. Therefore if what they are saying and or doing cannot be found in the Scriptures they are FALSE TEACHERS. Avoid them like the plague. Because they are a plague. They are of the devil and not of God. Even if they were once faithful, even the faithful can fall. The only safe ground is in the Scriptures. It is only the true Christian the faithful that can influence the world through care. Matthew 5:13-16 " Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." The church also has its place in this care. Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Finally it takes exercise. 1 Timothy 4:8 "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." In this self-centered, selfish, shallow and ego driven culture we live in today, people spend tens of thousands of dollars on supplements and exercise going to the gym, desperately trying to attain that perfect body. A body that will one day be placed in the ground and will rot away like every other corpse. If they spent half the time and money just studying their Bibles imagine the spiritual body they would have. There is a dramatic change that takes place in less than a year of going to the gym faithfully working out. It is the same but more dramatic the change that takes place in the life faithfully dedicated to studying the Bible just one hour a day. Anyone that says they do not have one hour to study or just read their Bible is lying. Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
The result of this growth is HAPPINESS. Romans 14:22-23 "Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." In this spiritual growth you will not only save yourself but you will also enjoy one of the greatest pleasures I have ever known. Bringing others to the Christ. 1 Timothy 4:11-16 "These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

Statement on Arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis HOUSTON, Texas – U.S. Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, today released the following statement regarding the arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis: “Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny. Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America. …

Why isn't this a good question to ask?
Cue the predictable reactions, of course. Nice object lesson this morning on how the left reacts to questions that make it collectively

THE CHURCH
Colossians 1:9-25 "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;"
The church is wide in its scope. It is nothing close to narrow as the secular populous would have you believe. The true church is in fact the widest religious institution in the entire world. Denominations are bound by their individual creeds each as different as the denominations are from each other. Denominations by their own admissions could not contain ALL the saved. Many make it impossible for certain races to be saved at all in their original creed books. Native Americans are still considered savages and not worth saving according to original creed books of the Mormons. In fact it was not until recently that people of color were allowed to become members and even when they do they are of a lower standard than a regular member. The church of Christ contains all the saved. Many seem to forget that the first Christians were all people of color. All should know the true Biblical meaning of the church. MUST know it for our salvation.  Acts 2:47 "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." We should know it for the salvation of others.  Ephesians 2:15-19 "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;"
The meaning of the word its self is the collective body of Christians. This would of course entail that one know the definition of Christian. (Ekklesia) is the Greek word for the church. It means the called out body of people. Called out from the world. Matthew 16:18 (KJV) "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Called out from the darkness into the light 1 Peter 2:9 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" The question is how can you being called out from the world live a worldly life? If you are any kind of Christian at all you know the answer is you cannot.
Uses of the term church. It is used universally including all the saved. Ephesians 1:20-23 "Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." It is used locally  Romans 16:16 "Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you."
Figures describing the church. It is a Kingdom and the Christ is her King. 1 Corinthians 15:25 "For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet." True Christians are translated into His Kingdom. Colossians 1:13 "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:" It is the Christ's body His body is the church (Colossians 1:18-24). There is only one body Ephesians 4:4-6 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Christ is the Savior of that body Ephesians 5:23 "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." It is the house of God Hebrews 3:6 "But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." And God dwells in His house Ephesians 2:19-22 "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."
It is the temple of God a built up spiritual house 1 Peter 2:5 "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." The church is that temple and we MUST never defile that temple 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
What has always amazed me as a faithful Gospel preacher is how I MUST teach over and over again the same simple principles of being a Christian. I guess what makes it hard to understand is that I have young children and when daddy says something is wrong after a few times my children get it. They know that it is wrong and they do not do it because daddy will spank. Beloved our Heavenly Father will spank with a spiritual spanking that will never stop hurting. You will burn forever, there are NO EXCUSES. That is why He wrote it all down in a book. There no such thing as "I did not know" Yes you did know and you chose not to do it. The one comment I hear most often is "you mean to tell me" I do not mean to tell you anything the Bible the written Word of God tells all you need to know. You know why you do not hear about denominations in the Bible? Because there were none when it was written not for centuries after it was written. Therefore all the inspired men were already dead. Logically all denominations are a false religion made up by false teachers and not the church at all.

Good question as to which one prefers but the real problem is simply crime and a disrespect for life and property.

The natural result of good people armed.
The Detroit police chief has called on the law-abiding people of his community to arm themselves. Now, James Craig says his city has seen a drop in crime of 12%, as Detroit moves lower on the list of America's deadliest cities.

Great place to go shooting. They do practice gun safety first. The range officers I have dealt with have all be very helpful and very friendly. Great place to go shooting handguns in particular.

I went in yesterday and they were very friendly and very helpful. The people are nice and good to work with. We had them install a sound system and when we had problems, they came out and took care of the problems. Appreciate what they have done.
