I do regret that I passed up the USMC "offers for employment" while I was in college...however....I digress.

Interesting how the boot camp kiddies get ACOG from the get-go.

Recruits of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, and Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, learned the fundamentals of marksmanship May 18-  May 21, 2015, on Parris Island, S.C. Recruits spend a week learning and practicing marksmanship fundamentals before firing the following week. Both companies are scheduled to graduate July 2, 2015. (Photos by Pfc. Vanessa Austin)

Cool!

This wind turbine has no blades — and that’s why it’s better | Grist
The Vortex bladeless turbine uses the wind to vibrate instead of spin. That makes it cheaper, quieter, and more reliable than a bladed turbine.

Well, that's a claim, anyway. But an article with only one source is hardly legit and no testbed to visit or third party validation? This could be a scam.
The trouble with operating wind generators near the ground is you get a lot of ground clutter and uneven energy. No moving parts is a good thing, but dumping huge amounts of energy into an electro magnet with no cooling? They will break on a hot day. Or gusts will snap them off. There is NEVER such a thing as "no maintenance required". That's a guarantee of a liar, right there.
And the problem with this gizmo is they dump into 3-phase power, and if they're out of sync with the grid they actually SUBTRACT from the grid rather than add to it. This should have come out on 4/1/2015.

Why are Capitol Police given a slap on the wrist for losing their guns, and why are these bozo's screening CCW applicants?
Capitol Police officers are getting more guidance on how to handle their firearms during bathroom visits after officers accidentally left their guns in the Capitol's public restrooms three times this year.

How could you reasonably control a debate with more than 10 candidates?
There are more than 15 high-profile Republicans running or a considering a run for president. GOP leaders, candidates and prospective candidates have been speculating about how to balance inclusiveness with order.

Loving Liberty! Marksmanship Matters.....Relax Physically, Think Positively, and Act Aggressively.
Introduction

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” –Benjamin Franklin

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
-Winston Churchill

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (James Madison, The Federalist Papers #46 at 243-244)

"Retreat? Hell, we just got here!" -Captain Lloyd W. Williams, 2nd Battalion 5th Marines, 6/1/1918. Died 6/12/1918.

"Retreat, hell! We're not retreating, we're just advancing in a different direction." -Maj General Oliver P. Smith, December, 1950 Korea

"I divide my officers into four groups. There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and diligent -- their place is the General Staff. The next lot are stupid and lazy -- they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the intellectual clarity and the composure necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is stupid and diligent -- he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always cause only mischief." -Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord, German Reichswehr Chief-of-Army-High-Command, October 17, 1933.

"Hell, these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima; Baghdad ain't shit."
-Major General John Kelly; 1st Light Armored Recon. Operation: Iraqi Freedom

"Actually, it's a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right upfront with you, I like brawling.... You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."
—Gen. James Mattis, USMC, Speech in San Diego, 2005

"I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I'll kill you all."
—Gen. James Mattis, USMC, Message to the Iraqi tribal leaders

"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet." – Gen. James Mattis, USMC

"The truth is incontrovertible. Panic may resent it, ignorance may deride it, malice may distort it, but there it is." -Winston Churchill

"Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy." -Winston Churchill

"I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play; bring a friend....if you have one" -George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill

"Cannot possibly attend first night, will attend second....if there is one" - Winston Churchill, in response.

"He uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp posts...for support rather than for illumination" - Andrew Lang (1884-1912)

"One of the notable aspects of the democratic process is that one need not know anything about a subject in order to pass laws about it." -Jeff Cooper

Wade Ishmoto, a Delta captain who worked with the unit’s intelligence division, had joked, “The only difference between this and the Alamo is that Davy Crockett didn’t have to fight his way in.” -Operation "Eagle Claw", April, 1980

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

"Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances." -Thomas Jefferson

"When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty." -Thomas Jefferson
