I called Peter Norris Clapham to book my Audi A2 in for an MOT. They were able to get me a slot within a couple of days and I was able to drop my car off at 8am before work which was very convenient. I was called just after midday and told that the job was completed (pass!) and that the car was ready for collection. Everyone I spoke to at booking, drop-off and collection was very warm and friendly. Thanks, guys!

The rooms suffer from a lot of road noise throughout the night from the A27 and the beds aren't the most comfortable. Also, the curtains in room six don't quite fit the window. Food in the bar is lacklustre but at least it's cheap. Luckily, it's only £3 for a pint of Doom Bar so all of the above can be sorted for about £15!

I had a great experience at Giant St Pauls when I visited to purchase a new bike. I spoke with Jack who was extremely helpful. When I settled on a bike he then spent half an hour with me and the bike getting me measured up and making sure that it fitted me like a glove, even giving me some core exercises to do to help me stay on the drops for longer. Afterwards, we spent a while trying out cycling shoes and, again, Jack was extremely helpful - a refreshing experience if you've done your previous cycle purchasing in Halfords or Evans. I can't think of anywhere better to buy a Giant bike, but be careful when purchasing accessories for your new ride as they are rather expensive here: a pair of Shimano R088 shoes costs £90 in-store and can be picked up online for around £55 delivered. The store is great and I'm pretty sure that every bike in Giant's range is on display in the store in various sizes. They also do 24-hour test rides for a £100 refundable deposit - well worth considering if you're spending four figures!

This is a lovely little cream tea shop that is an absolute must to stop in if you head down to the Needles for the day. Service is very friendly and the cream teas were enough to satisfy any appetite. Make sure you go and say hello to Liam the pygmy goat!

Had a lovely stay at the Elsted Inn whilst doing the South Downs Way on foot. Malcolm and Lisa gave us a great welcome and a hearty meal which was very kind seeing as they don't normally serve food on a Monday and got the kitchen fired up especially for us. Free WiFi for customers was helpful and very comfortable rooms meant we awoke the next day feeling refreshed and ready for the next hike!

Went to Lynne's to order a new Hotpoint cooker. The price including delivery and installation was very competitive and customer service was absolutely cracking. Everyone was really friendly and turned up exactly when they said they would. I'd definitely purchase white goods from these guys again.

I went to the Southsider Cocktail Club on a cold Saturday night in January and had a great time. The bar staff were really friendly and happy to help you to navigate the cocktail list, or to go off piste. Service was quick considering the work that goes into making each drink and you were never left waiting at the bar for too long. The drinks menu itself is a brilliant work of originality, I can't remember seeing drinks like that anywhere else. Most notable is the Harry Potter-inspired Butter Beer: a delicious blend of butterscotch schnapps, honey, rum and what tastes like liquefied sunlight, all topped off with Asahi beer. A great cocktail that reflects the work that's gone into building this bar's roster of beverages. The decor of the place is very clean and tidy and it's a nice place to spend your time. Only small problem in that the lights are a little bit too low in the back area next to the bar: I saw quite a few people having to the use the light from their mobile phones to read the cocktail menu. There's no problem in the main area to the front of the bar, however. In all in, this bar is great addition to Battersea Rise and you'd do well to pop in for a few drinks.
