Portsmouth - Kitakyushu - Oxford
I've been attending Soho Gyms Borough for about two years and I love the place. There's plenty of equipment for everyone to use and everything is kept nice and tidy - people tend to make sure they put their weights back which is something I rarely see at Virgin Active or Fitness First. Staff are very friendly, too. Only downside is the asthmatic hand dryers they have in the toilets - a Dyson Airblade would do wonders.

I love the bouquets that McQueens create and I use them whenever I need to send flowers. The recipients always love them and the bouquets last for a long time. If you have seriously annoyed your girlfriend or if you need a good leaving present for a colleague you couldn't do much better than giving McQueens a call.

I called Peter Norris Clapham to book my Audi A2 in for an MOT. They were able to get me a slot within a couple of days and I was able to drop my car off at 8am before work which was very convenient. I was called just after midday and told that the job was completed (pass!) and that the car was ready for collection. Everyone I spoke to at booking, drop-off and collection was very warm and friendly. Thanks, guys!

Had a lovely stay at the Elsted Inn whilst doing the South Downs Way on foot. Malcolm and Lisa gave us a great welcome and a hearty meal which was very kind seeing as they don't normally serve food on a Monday and got the kitchen fired up especially for us. Free WiFi for customers was helpful and very comfortable rooms meant we awoke the next day feeling refreshed and ready for the next hike!

Good food quickly served up. Well worth stopping in if you're in need of a quick bite. Could do with a few more chairs in there though.

The rooms suffer from a lot of road noise throughout the night from the A27 and the beds aren't the most comfortable. Also, the curtains in room six don't quite fit the window. Food in the bar is lacklustre but at least it's cheap. Luckily, it's only £3 for a pint of Doom Bar so all of the above can be sorted for about £15!

I had a great experience at Giant St Pauls when I visited to purchase a new bike. I spoke with Jack who was extremely helpful. When I settled on a bike he then spent half an hour with me and the bike getting me measured up and making sure that it fitted me like a glove, even giving me some core exercises to do to help me stay on the drops for longer. Afterwards, we spent a while trying out cycling shoes and, again, Jack was extremely helpful - a refreshing experience if you've done your previous cycle purchasing in Halfords or Evans. I can't think of anywhere better to buy a Giant bike, but be careful when purchasing accessories for your new ride as they are rather expensive here: a pair of Shimano R088 shoes costs £90 in-store and can be picked up online for around £55 delivered. The store is great and I'm pretty sure that every bike in Giant's range is on display in the store in various sizes. They also do 24-hour test rides for a £100 refundable deposit - well worth considering if you're spending four figures!
