Annual rent growth in San Diego apartments came in at 4.4% as of 1Q 2014. That’s the metro’s best result seen since mid-2007, and it places San Diego among the top 10 rent growth leaders for really big metros across the country.

Encouragingly, significant momentum in pricing power registered pretty much across the board in the latest set of stats. The rent growth rate climbed in every apartment product niche and in nearly every individual neighborhood.

The San Diego apartment market is among the top 10 rent growth leaders for really big metros across the country in Q1 2014. Can the market sustain this momentum or will operators continue to push rents?

By any definition, Portland is a unique place. It also has a unique combination of tail winds that should position it to remain a top performing apartment market over the next couple of years.

#multifamily   #cre   #realestate   #portland
Portland’s apartment market should continue to post strong rent growth over the next couple years thanks, in part, to a low volume of new development and healthy demand drivers.

Among the so-called “Sexy Six” core apartment markets, we’ve seen a range of performances in recent years. All but one of them, though, have had extended periods of outperformance sometime between 2010 and early 2014. The exception? Los Angeles, which has yet to show consistently strong momentum since coming out of the recession. Is Los Angeles facing a “new normal” below the typical revenue growth levels of the mid-2000s?

The green tint of sustainability has enveloped the world and the multifamily industry and local governments are heeding the calls to limit the uses of natural resources and offer eco-friendly living experiences.

A new California law allowing undocumented immigrants to get a driver’s license without presenting a birth certificate or Social Security card could have Fair Housing implications for landlords and property management companies.

No matter how hard we try, there will always be mistakes that affect our residents. In order to right the wrong, we must jump into service recovery mode—especially if we want to be successful property managers.

For the first time in more than two decades, Austin’s apartment sector is expected to see big growth in both the local economy and in new apartment supply. Can Austin’s projected economic growth cushion the apartment sector from a 20-year peak in new development?

This is my first visit to LA Burger and I was blown away. I had the LA Burger and the K-Fries. They tasted fantastic. I will be returning to try other menu items. The restaurant was very clean and the girl at the register/server was super friendly and helpful. You can't make a much better first impression than that.

A beer-lovers paradise. My waiter spent plenty of time discussing my tastes in beer and recommending several brews on tap to try. That's been my experience each time I've been...a knowledgable wait staff eager to share their love and passion for beer. Beer isn't the only thing they offer. They offer eclectic and modern takes on typical bar food. The Bangers and Mash and BBQ Duck Wings are two such examples. But the main reason I am here today writing my very first online review is the Bacon Lollipop. Yeah, you read that right. Thick slabs of skewered bacon, served with pieces of funnel cake and a maple hollandaise sauce. Bacon fat served with a sweet buttery dipping sauce? Divine. Give this place a shot. I truly believe you won't be disappointed.
