Glad I ran across this post. Just replaced my laptop HD, and reinstalled win7, was going to setup Ubuntu to dual boot, and upgrade to 10 on Windows.

A heads up for anybody who dual boots windows and is upgrading windows to win 10!   In the last stage of upgrade windows changes all the drive UUIDS which will mess up linux/unix/apple boots.   Change your /etc/fstab to use the "/dev/sda(?)" directions instead of UUID ones.

Daddys got a brand new grill! Well technically it's my first grill. We put some chops on the grill tonight with some green beans. Turned out pretty good. Not bad for a noob and a Yankee.

Video #2 from Butch's show.  He's performing one of my favorites from his long collection of tunes.

He also shares a story at the beginning how he mucked up his knee before the tour.  Getting old sucks.  I got those 45 year old knees, too.  Can't do jack with them anymore.  :-)

We got home last night from the river, greeted by the wave of heat blowing in our house like an oven.

Turns out the AC unit is on the fritz. Can't get a body to check it till tomorrow, so we're camping places like Barnes and Noble for AC and wifi.

Good times... So much for the relaxing day at home.

Our after river pic from today. We took a long, well deserved weekend away from work. Kicked it off by spending a few hours floating down the Guadalupe river on some tubes.

What a beautiful day for it, too. Very hot, but the water so cold and refreshing. It is also nice to sit and bask in nature, lazily, unplugged from the world and technology. Old school fun.

We are enjoying day three of Disney, despite my 45 year old body telling me I'm a complete asshat for running all day like I'm 15 again. ^_^

We got so many family photos and pics. But throwing a few out here now. Cynthie got to meet the evil queen, who moments later was disgusted when I proposed at the wishing well. Apparently, she doesn't approve of happiness, and let us know it. (^_-)

And there were stormtroopers! Heck, yeah!

Not bad place, but for price, it really should be better. Had fried steak, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, Cornbread. Dessert was some sorta oreo pie. Fried steak was good, mashed ok, but rest aside of dessert was Bleh. Desert was ok. It's a cafeteria line and was not pleased with fact they didn't label the dishes, or provide some way to sort out costs. I had to keep asking servers questions and it was loud and hard to hear them. All the staff were very friendly and helpful though, and the dining area is nice and wide open, lots of space. Food could use some work though.

Boloco! For breakfast, lunch or dinner! Been eating here for a while since it is in quick walking distance of work. I recently picked up a gift card that I ended up using, and created an account online for. So now instead of standing in line and trying to order my food, we can put in an office order for pick up. The online portal to order is easy enough to use, and handy to link your Boloco card to. I think their websites could use some work as they are split from each other (linkable), but it gets the job done if you spend enough time getting the account right. Food is always great, and they have a lot of specialty foods, or the ability to go Goloco and make your own (which I prefer most of the time). Orders have almost always been accurate. The decor is nice, good place to dine in if you have the time, and conveniently located by the Boston Commons. The service is usually pretty good, although since I started ordering online you have less service contact, but the food is always ready when they say it will be, and someone is usually smiling handing it off. If I had a beef with Boloco's it would be that they are too busy most of the time. The place is usually packed out for lunch, and why not? They are doing good work!

We stayed here on a last minute decision after driving a couple of hours north at night. We chose Portland as the halfway point and I was skimming hotels on my smartphone via the popular Hotel app. Mostly, we just needed a place to lay our heads for a few hours before getting up bright and early Friday morning to drive to Bangor. The room was clean and serviceable. No issues with anything that we found. The shower was awesome. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. They had free Internet available and it was easy enough to connect to and use with no issues. Free parking and dun, dun, dun - free breakfast! The breakfast was standard as far as hot breakfasts go, with some pre-made sausage, eggs, and the ability to make your own waffles. Not great, but its a quick meal to get on the road and did I mention - free! I thought the price was a little high, but it was ok, middle of the road compared to others. The service desk was the best, friendly and helpful. That is always a bonus. I would consider staying again if ever in the area.

I originally visited the Dunstan School Restaurant 3-4 years ago on a church retreat where we had the lunch buffet. I've always remembered that visit as a very positive one, and have always wanted to revisit the restaurant someday. I didn't expect it to take this long, but we had the chance to stop by this past Friday afternoon. While the place was not as good I as remembered it being, it was not bad either. I usually have a hard time finding good buffet places, but Dunstan does a good job of having good food, that is hot and fresh. Variety was also very good, everything from steak tips, seafood, to chicken tenders and tacos. I had heard it was recently renovated, but it seemed about the same as I remembered it. The decor was old, but everything was serviceable, which for me is good enough. Thumbs up to the service. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. We were seated promptly, the waitress did a good job following up with us and clearing plates, etc. And when they were out of an item on the buffet bar that I was looking for, another waitress made sure the kitchen promptly resupplied the food. It was a nice visit after a long day and lots of driving. I would revisit again if in the area.

I work in the area so this is one of our office's favorite spots to get take-out for lunch. This was also one of my first experiences with Thai food and I have been very happy with it. Have tried several dishes, but my favorite would be the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. We have never dined in so I cannot really tell about the service, but the staff is always pleasant on the phone, or when picking up our orders. The orders are always accurate and have never had an issue with bad food, etc.
