I had a good week! Last Friday I had an idea for an article, and yesterday I submitted the article to a journal. One week from idea to submission! I feel like Euler.
The article presents a way to solve the angle trisection problem. No, I promise I'm not a mathematical crank! I saw how to turn an old result (trisection using a carpenter's square) into a trisectrix (a curve that can be used to trisect an angle), and I described a compass that can draw the curve.
I've posted a link to the preprint on my blog. I also created a GeoGebra applet to see the trisection in action.
