If  told you that any K-12 student in the US can get full access to all O'Reilly books and videos via a free Safari subscription, you'd be looking for the catch.  There isn't one (except that it's only open to US students - sorry. If anyone has ideas about how we can validate young people in other countries, we can explore adding them.

+Andrew Savikas explains how this came about. Congratulations to the Safari team, especially +Keith Fahlgren, who took the bit in his teeth and figured out how to make this happen.  I particularly like how the Safari team figured out how to make this an internet self-service play rather than something we had to work through bureaucratic channels.

And thanks to the folks at the White House, who used their convening power to get a whole lot of donations to help kickstart better STEM education in America.
Safari is providing K-12 students and teachers open access to books, videos from O'Reilly Media as part of $100M White House ConnectED commitment. Read More...

My new wooden Fate Dice, in context (those are the green dice from the Core Dice set), courtesy of +Joseph Kogin!

BTW, seems like an 'Accessories' category may be warranted, no?

Please imagine there was a way in which you could anonymously give $1/week to someone you know or are aware of who you love and / or are inspired by.

Given the above, which ONE of the following best applies to you?

I've been going to the Mediterranean Café for almost 20 years (since before they added "Paymon's" to the name). The prices have always been reasonable, & the food excellent (I absolutely love their chicken fessenjan). The décor used to be "uppity hole-in-the-wall" with dust-collecting artificial grapevines everywhere, but they upgraded it considerably about ten years ago. About the only thing that isn't great is the service. Wait staff is polite and helpful, but often not very experienced (the restaurant hires a lot of students from the nearby university, and has high turnover), and sometimes slow. However, if there is ever a problem, the owner will make it right (though replacement dishes may take a while).

Good selection of coffee and tea, great place to sit at a table with fellow colleagues or students to collaborate. Decent WiFi speeds, airy, usually clean, and very well lit. Poetry Slam nights were awesome, do they still do those?

Absolutely amazing. Great crust, sauce, toppings, cooked to perfection, friendly service and they even have great draft root beer floats.

I've been going to Body Wisdom for several months now. Amy is, hands down, the best massage therapist I have ever had, and I highly recommend her.
