OK...I'm weird. Two years ago if you'd have told me I'd own an iPhone(I now own 4) and a MacBook Air in two years I'd call you nuts. If you'd have told me I'd be eating mainly fruits and vegetables EVERY day I'd call you nuts. If you'd have told me I'd prefer to listen to EDM/Dubstep/House(whatever it is I'm listening to) than Rock I'd call you absolutely freaking crazy.

Yet here I am. All the above. Since we've gotten our two most recent vehicles they both have SiriusXM satellite capabilities. One came with a trial which I then got an extra 6 months out of for cheap. In that time I used to just listen to Lithium, Ozzy's Boneyard, and Hair Nation. That's all I needed. Then one day I came across channel 52, Electric Area. The next few months has been there...and only there.

I don't like EVERYTHING on it, but a lot. If a song comes on and I like it I take a picture of it and then look it up later. Today I finally got our second vehicle trial membership for two months. After that I'll get some discounted 6 months action just like on the current car. Now I can get my WUBWUB on in either vehicle.

To get a taste of what I like I made this playlist on youtube. It's 20 songs big as of now. It's got all the songs I've taken pictures of and then a few more. Skrillex has not been on the channel yet that I've heard. Here's a link to my playlist. Try to listen on something that has lots of bass and can get loud. Some of the songs may not sound like much at first but give each a little time. Remember to turn it up. Here's the link.

Well I'm not sure if I said how my experiment went with Project Fi a few weeks ago. It went as well as I could have hoped. I had cellular coverage at home. I had it on the way to work(my current job...my new job on the 16th is still iffy). I had it at work too. Those are the only places I NEED it really. I used a new email address made specifically for using Project Fi and got a new number to go along with it. I used it for ONE day. Yup...ONE.

It's all I needed really. It was 24 hours from signup to cancellation. I did what I do 5 days a week and it worked. Worked so well in fact that I signed back up using my normal email and my YEARS OLD GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER. That's capitalized because it's been my number I give out for years. I wasn't going to risk losing my only number in an experiment.

I still have my Cricket Wireless SIM card and number though. I won't get rid of it as it would be foolish actually. On Cricket, if you use the $40 3GB plans in the family plan, it's 4 lines for $100 and the 5th line is free. So why would I give up a 5th free line? I put the Cricket SIM in my iPhone 5s. I can also use it in my Nexus 5 or OnePlus One if I need tethering on AT&T. Since tethering is free on Project Fi I have tethering capability on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular now. Hopefully with ONE of them I can get a signal if I need to.

Use my link below to save $20 and give me $20 on my bill.

I was going through my settings this morning and low and behold the instant app setting was there. I enabled it of course. Now I hope to use it and never notice. THAT would be awesome.

OK...I have a long time GV#. It's the only number I use. Didn't want to mess it up by using it for a "test" of Fi so I got a new GMail account in order to get a new GV# that Fi will use. Got my SIM today and just activated it with a new number as it DOESN'T matter what my phones actual number is as I don't use it. I use my GV#.

I put second GMail account on phone and activated Fi with that account. I used to just forward my GV calls to phone as that was easier than ringing Hangouts. But I've read, NOT TRIED, that you can't forward a GV# to a GV#. And since Fi is really just a GV# this forwarding is out of the question. So now I have to ring Hangouts, of which I have two accounts of now, to get my calls. Easy enough of a settings switch to enable. I don't care if my new number rings so I have it disabled in hangouts. I also don't care if I get texts to it other than from Fi themselves. So I have it enabled just no notifications. I'll see them.

I've been having one of my sons try and call and send texts to original GV#. Calls never rang but he was able to leave voice message and I got notified of those. He was also able to text me...SPEAKING OF TEXTING...I still use the GV app for texting since they made it nice. My other son got home from school and his call rang through right away and his text message popped right up. One more test when the wife gets home for calls and texts.

So it's a kludge but here it is. I have two GV #'s. One of which is the one I want and now I have it ringing via Hangouts. It's also the number that some still text and I have texts going to Google Voice app. I have new GV# not notifying me for anything as any calls to that number are trash and any texts will be too unless from Fi.

I'm doing this as a test because I plan on traveling more with my wife once the kids are gone. This is great way of not having to find and buy a local SIM card for data when in other countries. The bad thing is I'm used to my unlimited data on Cricket. The bad thing is I also need tethering. The bad thing about tethering is I either need to root/jailbreak to get it for free on my Pixel/iphone AND keep unlimited data. Or I need to drop my plan from unlimited to 12GB(the most after unlimited) which costs $10 less but then need to spend $10 to pay for tethering. I don't like to have to root/jailbreak and I don't like to spend $10 after lowering $10.

So I'm going to see if I can just control my reckless data habits. Just download more at home than normal. Have tethering included for free on my plan(which I don't need all the time but NEED it when I need it). And save some money. I COULD drop my Cricket plan way down but I'd still have to pay for tethering which is USELESS because my Pixel isn't currently "supported" to pay for it. I also do NOT want to be rooted on my Pixel.

We'll see tomorrow if I get any signal at all while at my desk at work. That'll be the last test.

As soon as I do my searches on my phone I'll have 29,000 points. And my secret is to search the alphabet daily on Bing on the desktop and mobile device. That alone gets you 250 points a day. Yes you have to search a few more items on desktop for the full 150 points. Plus they can email you bonus questions to click on in email too as well as just bonus questions every day any way.

And with auto pay and/or family plan this gets even less. Not too shabby. We already have four devices on the smart plan and one on unlimited. I had also taken advantage of a free upgrade to 8GB on the smart plan a while back. But this is good news.

Well my Echo may be getting a new wake word. Didn't even know this was an option. I knew the word could be changed but not to computer. Plus my kids won't "get it".
