Writer's Block (Kryptonite for copywriters) - How do you get through it?
I just experienced first hand the dreaded condition of creative paralysis. I was sick for the most of December 2013 and found myself struggling to get work done. I felt guilty about neglecting ContentVerve.com, but I simply had to prioritize clients over blog posts.
I was looking forward to writing the first post of 2014. I knew what I wanted to write about, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't turn my thoughts into words and paragraphs that properly conveyed what I was trying to get across. I struggled for about 5 days trying to write one single 1,500 word article.
It was hell... I was on the brink of desperation when finally I broke through the wall and got to a point where the words finally started to flow. I don't know exactly what I did to break the spell - other than to keep writing, deleting, thinking, writing, deleting, thinking. So I don't really have a solid strategy for how to pull through the next time I get hit with kryptonite.
Have you ever experienced writer's block? Do you have any tips or strategies for how to pull through?
