Washington DC through my camera lens...
What with the crazy Spring we had in the Quilt Matters household and not knowing what would happen with my mom's treatment, we didn't plan a trip out East this summer and well, didn't plan anything for the summer really. When she finished her treatment and things were looking good though, ...

TGIFF! Is on at Quilt Matters this week. Bring those finishes and check out the beautiful link ups.
It may not be completely finished and it may look simple, but getting this top finished feels like a huge accomplishment -- so I'm celebrating Thank Goodness The Top Is Finished! Yeah, yeah, I know, it's not really a true TGIFF!, but we had an unexpected opening in our TGIFF! host schedule this ...

Something new...
In April, I took a quilt design class with Elizabeth Olwen, surface designer. She has a great aesthetic. It was such a fun day -- hanging out with Elizabeth and the OMQG folks, designing, and quilting. Bliss. I went into the class wanting to break my solids streak. Don't get me wrong, ...

Welcome to TGIFF, where every finish deserves a celebration! Before I get into our party, I have some exciting news! October Sky won second place in the "Excellence for Original Modern Wallquilts" at Quilt Canada's National Juried Show. Holy crap! Actually, I said something a little more graphic ...

Some great ideals out there this weekend!
I mentioned the Sew Sisters special this weekend, but I learned that my other sponsors are having some sales too! Woo hoo! Now that's my kind of Mother's Day gift! Mad About Patchwork - All 10″ squares (layer cakes) have been marked down 20%. And the linen/cotton Mochi dots are marked down 25%.

AGF Stitched Blog hop today!
Welcome to the Fractal Blog Hop hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop and sponsored by Art Gallery Fabrics! The Fat Quarter Shop provided the free Fractal Quilt pattern and a great video tutorial and Art Gallery Fabrics provided the eye candy. Oh, and the Fat Quarter Shop has a Fractal Quilt Kit too!

A tablet case for the new precious...
Hello darlings and welcome to TGIFF! The place where every finish deserves a party! I have to say that it was looking dodgy about whether I'd have a finish to share (again) this month. I have several projects on the go, but nothing close enough to being finished. Until yesterday.

Happy Canada Day, Eh!
Hi everyone, I hope the weather is better in your neck of the woods -- raining here. It had better clear up in time for the fireworks tonight. We take our fireworks seriously around here! Things are looking up. My mom finished her treatments yesterday so now we wait to see how well they worked.

Entering October Sky into the Blogger's Quilt Festival with Amy's Creative Side!
It's one of my favourite times of year -- the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by the amazing Amy Ellis. I'm entering my October Sky quilt into the art quilt category. There are a number of gorgeous quilts already linked up so check it out when you get a chance. Even better, enter one of yours!

TGIFF! is on over at Quilt Matters. Come link up those quilty finishes!
Welcome to TGIFF! It's been a crappy week in the Quilt Matters household so I'm especially glad that it's just about done and I can celebrate something positive. :) This quilt began as part of two challenges for our local Modern Quilt Guild -- the Block Design Challenge and the Montreal ...

I love April. The weather is warming up. We can ditch the winter clothes. Hockey is finished and soccer hasn't really started. We can sleep in some weekends. And I can attend quilt retreats or workshops! We had a meetup with the Montreal Modern Quilt Guild (MMQG) the weekend before last.
