And each child in his place. That's the idea, anyway. It's been awhile. Sorry about that. There's some not-so-fun stuff going on around here. Before the not-so-fun stuff started though, I did finish the boys placemats so that is what I'm going to celebrate today!

Birchen Blog Hop with the Fat Quarter Shop and Art Gallery Fabrics!
We're using Art Gallery Fabrics (woo hoo!) so I chose to use the Prisma Elements line of fabrics for my version of Birchen. I LOVE this line. For my quilt, I chose Zirconia, Apricot, Solar Quartz, Larimar Sea, Pagoda Gem and Sapphire Sparkle, with the idea that the aqua (Larimar Sea), ...

Happy Friday, all! December was my month to be Queen Bee for my Canadians Quilt Bee and I had asked my bee mates to make me a red, aqua and grey (or some combination thereof) modern Christmas tree block on a white background. I've now received all of the blocks so I decided to put them up on the ...

Playing with some quilting options...
I'm playing with quilting designs for Night Flight. First, I picked out the threads. Mmm, yummy! Yep, I'm going to mix it up with different thread weights and brands. I'm such a badass. Untitled. Next, I tried some different motifs with dry erase markers on my plexiglass trial quilting sheets.

More flipping!
She asked that we keep the four quadrants separate because she hasn't decided what layout she'd like to do. So...I thought I'd play around with some different options to share with you. Now that's a pretty versatile block! May have to do more of these... Posted by M-R Charbonneau at 7:27 am ...

It's time for TGIFF! Come link up and celebrate those finishes!
Oh happy, happy TGIFF! all! I'm thrilled to be sharing my finished Night Flight quilt. This quilt started with the scraps from Quilt Fix. I used the leftover triangles from the 45 degree seams from Quilt Fix to make half-square triangles (HSTs) and then paired them into flying geese units.

New block for Modern Block Monday...with a tutorial!
The moment I saw Elizabeth Hartman's Knee Socks block, I was smitten. It's a block that finishes at 24" though, a little too large to be asking my OMQG Bee mates this month. I decided to do a cross between her Knee Socks block and the blocks I'll be making for this Fibonacci Flow design.

I love these feathers!
Last April, I showed you my test Feather block from Anna Maria Horner's Feather Bed Quilt, as well as some directions for doing this block as a bee block. For this bee block, I provided the solid background (creams and beiges) and grey for the the feather spine. I asked my OMQG Bee mates to use ...

Playing with scraps...
Quick Fix > Quick Scraps > Quick Top! Well, I couldn't get that strip of HSTs out of my head so I ended up sticking with those Kona scraps from Quick Fix and pairing it with some Kona Charcoal. Very, very happy with the piecing -- most of the points actually meet! :D ...
