The current form of currency trading was largely shaped during the #BrettonWoods conference that was held in 1944.

The conference, aimed to create post-war economic order and speed up rebuilding by establishing a new monetary system that pegged exchange rates set at a par value with gold, which in turn was worth a fixed amount of US Dollars.

Though the Bretton Woods system proved unsustainable and was abandoned during the 1970’s in favor of floating exchange rates, it ultimately influenced the direction of the current market as we know it.

The disappointing numbers has led to doubts on a stronger economic recovery as well as a potential fed rate hike in the following months.

It doesn’t matter how good you are on paper if you make bad trading decisions. Having the proper mental and emotional discipline is the first step to becoming a successful trader.
