It's all about the "camp theme" at this "neighborhood hangout" in Los Feliz, where a "cool" crew delivers "creative cocktails" "in mason jars" and "rustic" American classics to "hipster" "kids" "hanging and relaxing" around fire pits on a "comfortable" patio; "the price is right" too, especially considering the "deals" on oysters and beer at the "lively" happy hour.
I don't recommend the Salmon entree. All three items were uneventful. I do recommend the Prime Rib entree and the Brussel Sprouts. Good Tequila Giblets. Decent Dirty Martinis. Nice atmosphere and staff. We will come back.
The cocktails are really good and if you sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders they will be happy to make cocktails custom to your tastes. The food is decent and the descriptions on the menu sound better than the actual dishes. Everything on the menu is pretty expensive. The chic, cabin vibe make for a very nice experience especially if you can get a seat outside.
I've given it a shot 3 times. It is insanely loud. Best to sit outside or straight forward when you come in, not in main seating to the left. The staff are all super nice. We literally had to yell to the waitress with our order. The food is fine. All very heavy 'comfort food' which is OK, of course, but maybe just a couple options on the menu to help buffer would be a good idea too.
The food was outstanding! The service is second to none. I highly recommend the short ribs. The distinct taste of the oysters were a real treat. Each region had it's own flavor. Treat yourself to this awesome dining experience!
Items are hit (SxSW sandwich) or miss (corned beef hash). Coffee is stumptown. Decor is similar to every other generic trendy restaurant opening up. They have outside seating. The parking lot is valet only, which is a racket that has permeated Los Angeles.
Great spot to grab drinks/a quick bite before a show at the Greek. I think 90% of the crowd there was headin up to the Greek when I went last Friday before Grouplove. Drinks are pretty good at 9-14$ and the crowd was eclectic. One of our group saw Asap Rocky and we saw Dangermouse leaving as we drove in. Pretty cool!
Great brunch spot - I recommend the Messhall Benedict! I wish it were easier to park, but it's located in the busy part of Los Feliz so street parking is a bit of a pain. Weekend brunches can get crowded, but as long as you're not in a rush, the food makes it all worth it!
