MERUS will be from 11 to 18 September on a roadshow in California. The event is organized by German American Chamber of Commerce, and initiated and supported by German ministry of Economy.
We like to see if German Water Technology can help to improve some of the water issues in Calfornia. If you like to meet us, please contact either Merus or the GAHC in San Francisco.

Installations at closed loop, as for instance in HVAC systems, are more and more a common job of Merus. The picture is taken after a chiller, the green line is part of the loop which distributes the cold water inside a shoping mall. Merus is capable to treat rather big loops. In some case office buildings with next to 2000 located at several buidlings.
In a closed loop the corrosion is the biggest issue. The corrosion lead then to pitting and expensive leaks. Done right we bring down the cost of operation and the cost of repair by more then 50%.

One of our Malaysian dealers WITCO, got the Merus Ring certified by MGBC, and was published in the greenpages Malaysia.
As can be seen below it is listed at non-chemical water treatment and considered as environmental friendly.

Merus is doing installations as well outside. In areas where there is heavy rain, as monsoon, we have to take precautions, to protect the Merus Rings from rainwater and other environmental influences. As you can see there  is first a layer of plastic on the pipe, then a filler, so the Merus Ring will fit perfect on the pipe. Finally as can be seen on the second photo, the Merus Ring is covered from outside.

Performance monitoring of Merus Ring water treatment

Using Merus Rings as water treatment, the chemistry of the water will not be changed. Hence we have to find other ways despite chemical analysis how to proof the performance.
In the graphs below you will find to the left a system which is not treated by Merus, whereas the right graph shows a system where Merus is used.
It is very obvious, the classical treated system the flowrate declined a lot over half a year. The system with the Merus Ring instead the flow rate even increased. Which is clear evidence of the outstanding performance of the Merus Rings in this application.

A summary of what Merus Rings are fighting in the water and the benefits to the customer

In the mid west of the US most houses have their own well. The quality of the water varies from well to well. We have been approached from a customer, with a big problem his water has a hardness of 128 grains/gallon.
We installed Merus Ring at the hot and the cold water line. A few days later we got a call from the customer. The lady of the house been very happy and telling her hair has for long not been so soft as lately.

Merus Rings has to be installed sometimes at very narrow places. Here it is on a offshore accommodation vessel, ahead of the RO system where out of seawater the drinking water for the platform is produced.
Installing offshore and treating seawater is a very common task for Merus Rings. The picture was taken prior the packing of the ring from outside, which is a must on a vessel or platform to protect the Merus Ring from splash water or debris.

Merus Rings are available in various sizes. They start from 1/2" and are available for 80". (2 meter inner diameter) The picture shows a return line of a cooling water system a 32" line as can be seen on the valve at the photo below. Ring sizes up to 12" are rather easy to be handled.
The ring for the pipe below is already more the 50 kg and 80" Merus Rings have more then 200 kgs, and are difficult to handle. Already in the production, but as well at the installation.
