Basic Information
I help people have big fun using mobile devices to express themselves creatively and use Hangout to make easy, productive connections with collaborators.
I'm a prisoner of smart ideas - and people brave enough to put them into action. This makes people like Steve Jobs my jailer. Thank God Steve was born so I could grow up and become first a desktop computing maven... and, 30 years later, escape from my iMac using the iPhone and iPad.

What a time to be alive on the Earth!

I have an unshakeable commitment to creativity, curiosity, and beauty. A lifetime sense of wonder beats my heart and runs my life.

These days, I’m living in Talent, Oregon (no kidding!) where I am caught up in a creative rapture with my iPhone camera from which I hope never to awaken.

When I'm not shooting, apping, or sharing iPhoneographs myself, I get great delight holding the hands of people who want to take full advantage of what their iPhones, iPads and other mobile devices can do for their creative development - and their connection with other creatives across the globe.

It’s time for all of us to make the migration from simply “being social” to “living mobile.” And what a delightful, amazing, joy-full ride it's going to be!

A popular speaker, I spent over two decades as a close adviser to senior management teams in real estate, healthcare, long-term care, and technology companies in Austin, TX and across North America and Europe. I co-authored a best-selling business book, Teamwork is An Individual Skill: Getting Your Work Done When Sharing Responsibility (Berrett Kohler, 2001).

LinkedIn notified me two days before Valentine's Day this year that I'm in the top 1% of people endorsed worldwide for our teaching. The notice made my day because I love teaching and coaching almost as much as I love making stuff.

After I moved to rural southern Oregon in 2006 - but before I quit using my desktop computer as a liferaft - I spent 6 years reporting about virtual meeting technologies and the coming revolution in health care. I helped people teach and coach using virtual classrooms, and helped Baby Boomer thought leaders make sense of social media for their businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Before my corporate consulting career, I was a photojournalist, an award-winning fine artist, a teacher, and the mother of a multiply-handicapped son.

My work has been exhibited and published widely and is included in both private and museum collections across North America and Europe. During my early photographic career, I was the grateful recipient of over 50 awards and grants in support of my creative work, taught for two major universities, at the prestigious Summer in Switzerland programs for youth, and at many arts organizations. I have a Master’s in photojournalism from the University of Texas at Austin. (You can read more about all this kind of stuff at iPhoneArtGirl or The Joy of iPhoneography.)

These days, the thing I most love talking and writing about is “Living La Vida Loca!”  That is, making the most out of our mobile devices to live creative, happy, healthy lives that no longer have to be tethered all the time to desktop computers. If your group is looking for a funny old lady to give 'em a wake up call, I’d love to speak at your meeting.

I blog regularly at where I post my personal work, as it's developing, and regularly share the work of other artists who inspire me. I’m developing an online store where I sell prints and paraphernalia that showcases my work and I hope you'll check it out.

I’m also reporting on news in the mobile photography revolution and sharing information about my classes and workshops at

If you’re curious about iPhoneography, mobile photography, 21st century camera work - whatever you want to call it - please connect with me here on Google Plus and on these sites. It's my favorite thing!

What else would you find interesting about me? Well, I'm a devoted fan of Byron Katie and enrolled in her lengthy program for facilitator certification in The Work. When I’m not making photographs with my phone, I adore dancing, gardening, hiking, biking, and fishing the wild rivers of Southern Oregon with friends and my sweet dog, Blaze.

Sound like someone you’d like to know? Add me to one of your circles and let’s find out!

Questions - Desktop  -
Just installed the desktop app and also on my iphone. The Mac desktop uploader keeps stopping (even though it's not paused) and now the app on my iPhone 6 is crashing every time I open it. So I can't see what's happening on the iphone upload. The display on the desktop isn't showing any phone photos? Can someone help me make sense of this?

Thank God you're now on this committee, Mr. Doggett. I'm no longer living in your district but I am watching your careful, brave representation of me and all Americans who are wanting to LIVE HARD here in the United States of America. Thank you and God bless you!

Doggett makes it clear that the Republicans are at war with the simple basic interests of the American people.

An important distinction that needs to be circulated widely. Enjoy!
Here's some food for the Google haters (most of who are keen to discredit the company, but at the same time can't be bothered to support Faroo and the like).

Phillip, I have two profiles here at G+ and it looks like you approved me with only one. The other profile, from which I'm posting right now, is the better profile for me to use with this community. May I join again, please?

Such beautiful work, Egmont! I just called you out on my blog this week, thanking you for leading some of us through your Chinatown haunts. One of my shots from our adventure was featured this week on The App Whisperer. You can see my write up at

Such a lovely surprise!  I have to admit, now, that I honestly can't keep up with all the social media sites. So, it's wonderful when a friend on one site or another alerts me that my work is circulating online.

A Tweet from a friend - a day later than the publication - let me know that this sweet baby was Photo of the Day on Friday at the fabulous Mobile Photography Blog. Love that, since I shot this image exactly one year ago on that Friday when I was visiting in Los Angeles.

Happy Birthday, Baby.

Finest Ted I've seen lately! I'm nominating Logan Laplante for Secretary of Education. He could do it in his spare time. No shit.

Please take a listen to this young man and pass this on. Hacking education is THE mindset for our time. Bravo to his brave parents!

The masters of NLP who are orchestrating the "news" at FOX have got people so deeply entrenched in trance that they really do "believe" what they're being told. It's frightening to see what Roger Aielles has done with his intelligence. History (if there's anyone left to think later in the 21st century) will make comparisons between him and Machiavelli. And Aielles will come out on top.

I started eating at the Talent Cafe a few years before Denise and her crew moved to the new location. I moved with them because it's such a great place for breakfast or lunch. Food's always fresh, well-cooked, and tasty. The atmosphere is homey and Denise and her staff are such welcoming, funny, fun-loving people. If you haven't tried it yet, make sure you stop in. If it's been awhile, you won't be disappointed.

Stephanie is a relatively new resource for folks who need hands on healing work in the Rogue Valley. I was hooked by a local article into checking into her services and...Wow! I hit the jackpot. Not since I relocated from Austin, TX, have I had such wonderful body work! I've had the benefit of working with lots of different kinds of body workers over the course of my life because I've had a number of acute injuries and some persistent, chronic pain. Stephanie is both deeply skilled and deeply intuitive about working with the body's natural rhythms and energies. I'd put her at the top of my list of massage and hands-on healing resources in the Rogue Valley and she's certainly the in the top five therapists I've worked with over the course of my life. If you're ready to let go of what ails you, I recommend you call her. As soon as possible.
