It was my pleasure to DJ one of the greatest wedding receptions of the year with Tim and Alissa Anson. Harbour Club was a great downtown Charleston venue with a rooftop and a seperate ballroom. Wanda from Richard Bell Photography was there capturing all the photos.

Bands Vs DJ. How much should I budget for my wedding entertainment? Let's break it down: A band usually costs more than a DJ because there are multiple members trying to get paid. With a DJ you only have one person to deal with. A band is limited in their song selection and will have to learn any special request thereby charging extra money for the extra effort while DJs have any unlimited song selection. Bands take breaks and then you have to feed 5 people. I have personally learned to eat like I am in the army and get right back to it. Bands have tons of gear and get really loud but a DJ has a smaller set up and full control of the volume. (have you ever crashed a cymbal quietly????)
So when considering that LIVE sound of a band or keeping it simple with a versatile DJ, consider these valid points. Average price of a band: $3000. Average price of a DJ $900. A bride selfie with the DJ's headphones on: priceless.

Baby it's cold outside, that sun is low in the sky, the big day is coming, and you are losing your golden tan.  The common solution is to bake in the tanning bed.  This practice (especially spray tanning) usually backfires...here's why.  We all share the same sun, so the other people in your bridal party pictures are not going to be as dark as you and it may look unnatural. Also, tanning is a process and the rush to get color before your wedding could end up as a sun burn.  Spray tanning usually leave you looking orange.  So, my advice is to be yourself and hire a certified esthetician to do your make up.  For more info and wedding tips check out the rest of my blog on my website http://melodicent.com/blog/ .

I used to hate karaoke.  It was a pain to set up and frankly it was a little cheesy.  NOT ANYMORE!  Melodic Entertainment has an online music database that the guest can access via iPad.  I hand them the microphone and they do the rest.  Visit my www.MelodicEnt.com to find out more.
