Have you tried out a few G+ (Chrome) extensions? This G+me one is amazing: http://huyz.us/google-plus-me/ Collapses your stream into a list, show/hide comments, mark comments as read, and more. I'm loving it!! Lots of big guys here are raving about it too. But, beware; some of these add-ons may have security flaws like this one Google+Facebook : http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/beware-googlefacebook-extension-google-tools-news/
G+me: collapse the Google+ stream into a real-time dashboard. G+me is a Google Chrome browser extension that enhances the Google+ web app to unlock the potential of its real-time updates and make it m...

Amber- I agree wholeheartedly. I haven't taken a true, unplugged vacation in more than 4 years because of the guilt that is imposed if I even suggest taking time off. It is typically a day or 2 that is usually combined with a weekend that is more acceptable. Some of that may be my own doing because I don't want that guilt for taking time off.

I work with a small, great group and being part of an exec team, it has been hard to make myself just take off and to use all my vacation time. I know taking time off helps you refuel but why does the repercussion of guilt make it not worth it?

With 5 months left, I have vowed that this year I will use all my vacation time (WITHOUT GUILT) and refuel!

I'm increasingly bothered by our culture surrounding taking vacations and time off from work.

We feel this need to apologize, come up with every contingency plan in the world, lug our laptops with us, provide contact information when we're supposed to be recharging...

Unless you're in the business of saving lives, you aren't. I'm a big proponent of people actually using and taking vacation time without regret or guilt. The world will not stop spinning for a week, or even two, and if it does, your business model needs to be rethought.

All that said, this is a personal choice and of course this is just my perspective, and I'm sure plenty will argue with me about how critical it is for them to be on and available. If you're the type that lives to work while you're on vacation, I totally respect that, and my choices don't need to be yours.

But neither am I going to sacrifice my own very necessary time to recharge and spend time with the people I love, and I'm willing to design and adapt my professional world and accept the outcomes to those choices as need be.

But man, for as much as people talk about being fried, overworked, overwhelmed, unhealthy and not sleeping (I know because I've been there more than once), I'm renewing my commitment to taking time off. Completely off. It's important to me, and I hope you'll find a way to work in time that's just for you, too.

Lastest review on the Marquee Grill and the Top Chef Tre Wilcox. Great bar for old fashion stiff drinks!. Nice happy hour and after hours hangout place to be seen in Highland Park Village.
