With traditional feedback, the answer is often “no, you are not good enough.” It can feel like an autopsy: a diagnosis of what we did wrong, with little hope of resurrecting our dissected selves. When we shift the focus of feedback from “what went wrong?” to “how do we achieve peak performance?,” we shift the entire dynamic. Feedback can go from draining to exhilarating.

WHAT IS APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY?
Appreciative Inquiry is a collaborative, strengths-based approach to both personal and organizational development that is proving to be highly effective in thousands of organizations and communities in hundred of countries around the world. It is a way of bringing about change that shares leadership and learning, fully engaging everyone in the organization.

WHAT IS APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY FACILITATOR TRAINING©?
Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training© (AIFT) engages participants to learn about the foundations of Appreciative Inquiry as well as the skills to facilitate inquiry sessions. At the end of this intensive Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training (AIFT), participants will understand how to guide organizations, groups, and communities to consciously and deliberately shift their collective way of being and seeing to an appreciative approach, that will help them focus on what's right in their organization, group or community, rather than on what's wrong.

There are no pre-requisites to enroll in this training. This course cover the basics of Appreciative Inquiry (e.g. principles, 5-Ds, theory, etc.) but delves deeper by providing experiential exercises that will teach you how to work with a core team, design an interview protocol, field test this interview protocol, how to keep the energy alive during & after the inquiry, etc.

This Appreciative Inquiry foundations course includes mini-lectures, and experiential learning (individual, pairs, trios, small group, and large group) as well as auditory and visual materials to enhance the learning experience. Each day has a morning and afternoon session; a morning and afternoon break; and one hour for lunch.

TRAINING IS DESIGNED FOR:
Leaders in businesses and corporations, community development, educational organizations governmental organizations, and nonprofit organizations--in short, anyone who wants to learn how to facilitate Appreciative Inquiry.

Appreciative Coaching is a revelatory and generative conversation that enlivens, amplifies, and sustains the positive core - source of the energy and intelligence of life - of both client and coach. This relationship cultivates new possibilities, health and fulfillment, accelerating us to our highest and deepest good. This 5-day course will comprise a full Appreciative Inquiry into our collective experience of Appreciative Inquiry and Coaching. Together we will explore and experience each of the 5 D's as it relates to one-on-one relationships (between a coach and client). The practicum, which participants will submit for certification, will embody "Destiny" as you apply the lessons taught during this course into your coaching work.

Ever come across a question or statement that made you stop in your tracks? Today while browsing LinkedIn, Nick Wright, a Leadership & OD Coach, posed the question, "How far do you model and support 'being in the question' in your OD practice?"

In this article, one statement stuck out for me, "Posing a question is the act of projecting an inquiry outwards. By contrast, being in the question is about our own presence, attitude and stance – a spirit of humility, openness and curiosity – and a willingness to invite challenge."

What are your thoughts? How do you model 'being in the question' for others?

Appreciative inquiry and coaching are quite similar in the fact that questions we ask are fateful. "Coaches do not enter a coaching relationship with the belief that their clients are broken, but with the belief that their clients have limitless potential and can achieve great things."

How might you use Ai in your conversations to uncover the limitless potential of those around you?
