KIND WORDS SAID IN LOVE

LEAVE FOOTPRINTS ON THE SOUL...

With every step you take in life Walk in faith,
Letting your heart pave the way for you and
Lead you to the right places as you leave footprints
Of the hope behind for others to follow.
Because in life,
Within every possibility lies opportunity,
Behind every closed door,
Waits another opened door,
With every ending starts a new beginning,
Every yesterday is followed by a
new today,
With every trial endured we gain personal growth and strength in our lives...

Have a great day friends...

I've just finished The Dweller Saga Omnibus Audiobook by David Estes. See why I gave this audiobook 4 stars on my blog.

I haven’t written an audiobook review in a while and part of the reason is that I committed to listening to The Dwellers Saga Omnibus by David Estes, a Young Adult sci-fi series. I rarely commit to 3 books upfront when I’ve never read or listened to anything by the … Continue reading

So sweet.

Head down. Sigh. I was fortunate to meet all except our young and departed. I'm sure he was a class act too. Warp speed.

ABC of Wilmington, NC, did an EXCELLENT job! They were responsive, friendly, quick, and the windows look great! I will recommend to others.

Chris isn't the best communicator. Neither is his crew. It took multiple calls to get him to come out and look at our yard after he said he would come. He said he'd be back in 2 weeks after we hired him and it was closer to 4. Then he forgot half of what he said he would do and we had to remind him. His crew showed up, didn't say hello, just started working. They left without saying if they were done. Only way we knew they were coming back was because they left their bobcat down the street overnight. They damaged some vegetable plants I can't recover this season and dragged limbs across my flower garden when there was a whole yard they could have walked through. But the price was good. One worker was nice enough to tell me about some soft spots he found on my roof. They also did a good job on the tree trimming. The trees they touched were clean cut and healthy looking when they were done. Nothing like the crews that come through to cut off limbs over the street and electrical wires. Those trees look butchered. Summary: They are bulls in a china shop, but they do a good job on the trees for a reasonable price.

From a local author perspective, I'm super disappointed. I like to support small bookstores, because I know what it's like to own one. So, when my book came out, my plan was to do a lot of local based promotion. I decided to stop by on the weekend last August, because I'm a full-time mom to a baby and work long hours. Apparently, the owner doesn't work weekends. I asked if I could leave a copy of my book and the girl running the store gave me attitude. She asked if I could come back Monday and I explained I couldn't, and asked if I could leave the copy and my contact info. She replied grudgingly, "Okay, I'll just add it to the piles in the back," which really made me feel unwanted. I left. They never called. I followed up a few weeks later. I left a message for the owner, but no call returned. I left a message on their Facebook page and it was ignored. I've read nice things about them, so I'm really disappointed. But I did have a wonderful experience with Two Sister's Bookery in the Cotton Exchange.

When I heard it was a resale shop, I wasn't expecting too much, so I was surprised to see so many well priced pieces of clothing in great shape. I went when they were having their $1 deals and I feel like I made away like a bandit. It's well organized and there are lots of options! I just wasn't impressed with the customer service. The cashierist didn't know how to use a calculator and they weren't very friendly.

Recently went to the Wilmington, NC, location and was waited on by a young man. I had picked out a $95 pair of frames. I was told the standard lenses were thick because of my prescription, but I could pay to have thinner, lighter lenses for about $35 extra (lenses were already about $30). Then, the 1-year warranty was $30. In the end, it added up to about $200.00. I got home, put them on (w/o my contacts), and noticed they seemed out of focus. I could see better out of my old glasses, which were 3 prescriptions old. I went back the same day and was told it was because I didn't have the ant-glare coating, which I was NEVER OFFERED. No point going back. Of course I wanted the coating when I already paid for everything. They told me I had to pay another $50 and they had to completely redo my lenses, and they had to order them, because they were out of stock. So, $250 for new glasses. I looked at Coastal Contacts online and I could have gotten the same glasses with the coating for under $100. Feeling really ripped off right now.
