Autumn in Tasmania is all kinds of beautiful.
You could say the same of autumn everywhere, but this little island is home to an autumn spectacle you won’t find anywhere else.

I can smell the lavender before I see it. The scent filters into the car while we wait to enter the estate. It’s not overpowering, but it’s noticeable. We park close to the edge of one of the purple paddocks that stretch beyond the visitor centre. It was started by a millionaire who made his money gambling. Inside you'll find an eclectic selection of artworks including videos of 30 Madonna fans singing her greatest hits and an installation nicknamed "the poo machine" and for $75,000 you can have lifetime membership and a place for your ashes once you die.

How many more reasons do you need to visit MONA - the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania.

Cradle Mountain is the most recognisable sight in Tasmania. But viewing this icon from 6000 feet? This is Cradle Mountain as I've never seen it.

When I gatecrashed my parent’s grey nomad travels I didn’t realise I’d be retracing my dad’s road trip through far north and outback Queensland in 1982.

I had my first helicopter flight today and it took me over Cradle Mountain. I'm not great with heights but it was worth it.
