My top 5 adventures on my travel bucket list. What's on your list?

While planning my trip to Austria two years ago, one of the Tourism Board reps suggested adding Wachau Valley to my itinerary. I knew next to nothing about the destination other than that it was less than an hour’s train ride from Vienna so I agreed. Wachau Valley turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The valley is a series of medieval towns and there’s a scenic bike trail that runs parallel to the Danube River so it’s pretty hard to get lost. I visited in late September and the weather was perfect, the food delicious and the wines flavorful. The tough part was leaving after only a few days and I decided right then and there that I’d return and spend some time harvesting wine on a vineyard. Cool spotting in New Orleans.

The Warehouse District is easily one of New Orleans’ most innovative neighborhoods. Like many revamped neighborhoods, this rags-to-riches part of the city is where many independent designers and artists have opened up shop. Julia Street is where you’ll find contemporary art galleries and specialty stores, most of which are located between South Peters Street to St. Charles Avenue. If your visit falls on the first Saturday of the month, make sure to stop by the galleries in the evening to see the latest exhibits in low-key party environment. The Louisiana Children’s Museum is a must for families and the Lafayette Square is a perfect example of a traditional plaza. For fresh fruit and veggies, the Crescent City Farmers Market is tough to top. More here http://bit.ly/1z8o46u

Things I've learned after recently moving to the west coast.

As much as New York inspires me, I was getting tired of the gritty warehouses that dominate Bushwick and much of Brooklyn in general. That intensified in late November when the cold weather started to kick in. The weirdest thing about Mountain View (where we are currently based) is that it’s literally warm and sunny every day. I’m still getting used to waking up to sunshine and birds chirping outside my window but I’m not complaining. To be honest, I needed this more than even I knew. While it does feel odd to be wearing a t-shirt and jeans in late February, I’m really enjoying all the quality time I’m having with the great outdoors. Nature has healing powers and it’s healing me.
