Cool Story +Kelly Tackert

The Honey Pot Ant - This ant's abdomen is hugely swollen with nectar to the size of a grape! Honey pot ants serve as living larders for the ant colony. Other ants stroke them with their antennae to make them release the stored food. They are so valuable that raider ants from other colonies will try to steal them for their food stores. Australian aboriginal people consider these ants a sweet delicacy. Read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honeypot_ant #nature   #fridayreads

Free time while you're in the  #NYC   area? Take a walk on the darker side with these walking tours recommended by +The Huffington Post http://is.gd/VHJzHp
When walking around NYC, most people don't pay much attention to the city's darker side. But beneath Gotham's glamour lurks a seedy past. A modern-day concrete jungle may conceal the sin and violence of yore you'll see the depravity that exists behind the present-day facade.

Pros: - Cheap - Very organized. Lots of information here to get to NYC - Service was great. Nice people - Breakfast is included. Don't expect much though - Close to the bus that takes you to Manhattan Cons: - Elevator is slow and old (one broke down, this was a huge annoyance) - The style is dated and the rooms are dark. It could use some modernization - The restaurants around this area are not very good, so go eat in Manhattan Overall a nice experience.

Stayed in Meadowlands River Inn for 3.nights in Okt. 2016 with my wife parents and two kids while traveling around New York area. The hotel is nicely located in the Secaucus area in New Jersey and it´s within a walking distance from a lot of nice restaurants, WalMart is just around the corner and a movie theater. 3.min walk to a bus stop station that will take you straight into lower Manhattan. The girls in the reception were more that nice very helpful. 5.stars from me. :) Thanks. Breakfast was good. WIFI was perfect.

A good place to rest close to Manhattan, but...the cleaning staff was chatting loudly outside my room at 8am while I was still sleeping. Also, the hotel advertises free breakfast but there is very limited seating in their breakfast area. I ended up standing to eat my bowl of oatmeal as I tried to balance my coffee and OJ. I wasn't alone

Decent hotel near NYC with great prices. Connectivity to city is good with a bus stop right across the road. Serves hot breakfast buffet, and free Wi-Fi. Have stayed here 4 times, no complaints. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and included a continental breakfast consisting of a fresh waffle maker, eggs, oatmeal, cereal and bread products. Bath tub in our room looked a little worn.

The River Inn is a quaint little hotel just across the street from all the restaurants and bars in the Plaza. Convenient and a good price overall.
