came here with colleagues after a day on the convention floor during the AIA 2016 convention. was so not into the bar scene at this point. we went upstairs to a private party. it was loud, people were DRUNK and I was tired. however, this is a cool place to visit in Philly for a tipple :)

Mary: Glad you enjoyed McGillin's, despite your really long day! Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!

Food was awful(had the fillet mignon sandwich) but the beer prices were great(for cc) and they are able to draw in a crowd. I would recommend the curly fries though they kind of remind me of checkers fries but lighter on the spices

It's hard not to like this place with its old-timey feel and great drink specials. I always bring out-of-town friends here when they're looking for a casual drink.

David: Thanks for your review. Great to hear that we're your go-to place for visitors!

This wasn't really my scene, but my complaint is mostly just how crowded and loud it was. I found it very uncomfortable and, had I not been alone, it would have been nearly impossible to have a conversation. The crowds, however, do attest that a lot of other people apparently really like this venue. So you should give it a shot. The service was good, the food was mediocre.

Hi Andrew: Thanks for stopping by. The crowd here tends to get younger and bigger as the night gets older. For a quieter experience, stop by for lunch or in the afternoon or early evening, especially early in the week. Hope to see you again. Cheers!

One of the oldest bars in America and a fun time for any occasion. There is not much special about the selection or food, but this is a fun place to visit.

Frank, glad you had fun!

Fun atmosphere and good beer selection. Stopped by on he way to a Phillies game so I didn't eat but had a beer sampler that was pretty awesome! Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back!

The place needs to be shut down immediately. Managers are disrespectful, the 2nd floor bar smells, their bathrooms are not kept clean, despite numerous complaints, and their foods be overcooked (especially the buffalo wings).

Brian: Sounds like you had a bad experience. We are family-owned and operated and care about making guests happy. Please call Chris at 215/735-5562 so we can discuss. We care.
