A fundamental international lesson "drilled" into all of our #IBM
marketing folks heads (back in the 90s) was the Chevy Nova #branding
bomb. The word "NOVA" translated in Spanish as "no va" meant "it doesn't go". No wonder sales were poor!
This is completely unacceptable shoddy marketing work, not to mention, most Americans study Spanish in school. Hire Canadian #marketers
(we all studied French in elementary school) not only would we know better, we have as better sense of the world,
US companies continue to make mistakes, other international bombs include Pepsi, Colgate, IKEA, Kentucky Fried Chicken and each #corporate
marketing agencies should be fired!
